Hello, I’m Dante! I'm an English major with an Associate of Arts degree in English. I aim to become an English teacher in all due time. For my work, I have written countless essays, read numerous non-fiction and fiction stories, and consulted with other distinguished peers on how to better their craft. I take pride in honing my skills as a writer and editor. Now I tend to gravitate to fictional stories but am also adept at taking on non-fiction as well. Moreover, I offer a wide range of edits, which include structural, developmental, copyedit, and proofreading. If we connect, we can discuss the process over Zoom and email. HERE'S A CLOSER LOOK AT WHAT I OFFER: Structural & Developmental Edits • How does the overall narrative flow together? • What are the character motivations? The development of each paragraph and narrative flow? Is it too short or inadequate? A meandering ramble leading to nowhere but in circles? *These structural questions help determine a narrative flow and sense of cohesion that help keep readers engaged. So, the pacing of the narrative, plot, and overall flow is the focus of my structural edits. The edits here are generally big-picture and full of critical analysis while offering revisions on the content you’ll provide. Line or Copyedit • Is the grammar messy? Any repetition? • Spelling mistakes? Accurate punctuation? • Do the nouns, verbs, and adjectives conflict in your sentence? *The copyedit focuses mostly on accuracy and the mechanics of writing. I’ll make a strenuous effort to ensure your writing is smooth and comprehensive for the reader. Proofreading • In a proofread, I evaluate for any mistakes, errors, or inconsistencies before you decide to publish. I do edits over Microsoft Word, so you’ll view the many revisions and comments I offer. Communication is crucial to me, so I look forward to collaborating with you!

Content writer, editor, and proofreader specialising in clear, engaging, natural English across fiction, non-fiction, and translated texts. Native English speaker with a degree in English Language and Literature and TEFL-qualified, with six years of freelance experience writing and refining high-quality content. I have experience working across a wide range of genres, including children’s books, romance (including explicit content), and crime and thriller fiction, as well as non-fiction and general content writing. I offer both writing and editing services, including fiction writing (romance, thriller, and children’s), ghostwriting, rewriting and improving drafts, and story development. I also provide proofreading for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and consistency, as well as line editing for flow, clarity, tone, and readability. I specialise in refining translated or non-native English into natural, fluent writing and adapting tone for different audiences. My TEFL background allows me to effectively shape translated or non-native English into smooth, natural language. I adapt my approach depending on the project, whether that’s clarity and rhythm for children’s books, voice and emotional impact for romance and fiction, tension and pacing for thrillers, or structure and readability for non-fiction. You can expect clear, thoughtful writing and edits, consistent tone and flow, reliable communication, and a professional, collaborative approach. I’m happy to provide a short sample so you can see how I would approach your project. Feel free to get in touch to discuss your manuscript or content. My rates typically range from $0.025 to $0.04 per word for editing and $0.04 to $0.08 per word for writing, depending on the scope and complexity of the project.

Passionate perfectionist and yarnspinner. Whether it's an academic paper on the love lives of toads, a collection of non-linear short stories, a blog about cheeses, or the next great American novel, I can offer a swift, expert copyedit. But my specialty is in analysis and developmental editing: I see the things in your work that are often too easy to miss, whether it's strengthening a delightful element you'd overlooked, or catching a misplaced character arc before it makes it out the door. I'm also triple major in French, English Literature, and Historical Research, so you know I'm an overachiever willing to go to any lengths if it involves the written word. For years, I've helped authors reach new heights in their writing, overcome writing struggles and fears, and go on to be published, confident, and proud. As a trained historian and English fanatic, not only can I help you get your work publisher ready, but I can help you with the research side of writing, crafting detailed worlds and consistent character arcs while giving you the skills to build your stories piece by piece. Let's connect and chat about how we can work together!
