Your story deserves a skilled partner who understands both craft and market. With specialized training in developmental editing and a writer's perspective, I help authors level up their manuscripts while preserving their unique voice.
As a certified developmental editor (Editorial Freelancers Association), I've mastered both theoretical frameworks and practical applications of story craft. My training covers advanced techniques in narrative structure, character development, and author collaboration, ensuring I can help you transform your creative vision into a compelling, publishable work.
I specialize in science fiction, fantasy, and broader speculative fiction genres, bringing both technical expertise and genre understanding to every project. As an active writer myself—self-publishing stories and consistently submitting to literary magazine—I understand the challenges and aspirations of authors at every stage of their journey.
Beyond developmental editing, I also offer:
*BETA READING AND MANUSCRIPT EVALUATION SERVICES:* Detailed reader feedback focusing on level of reader engagement, pacing, and emotional impact. My reports highlight both strengths and areas for improvement, giving you clear direction for revisions.
*GHOSTWRITING:* Collaborative story development and writing services that capture your vision while meeting professional standards. Whether you need a short story or full manuscript, I'll help bring your ideas to life.
*WRITER’S ASSISTANT SERVICES:* Ongoing virtual assistance and support throughout your writing process, including:
• Brainstorming and plot development
• Research assistance
• Progress accountability
• Feedback on works-in-progress
• Query letter and synopsis review
My approach combines rigorous analysis with supportive guidance. I believe every manuscript has potential, and my role is to help you realize that potential while maintaining your unique voice and vision.
I continue to invest in my professional development through advanced courses and industry engagement, ensuring my clients benefit from current best practices in both craft and market expectations.
Available for both one-time projects and ongoing collaborations, I pride myself on clear communication, meeting deadlines, and delivering thorough, actionable feedback that moves your project forward.
Let's discuss how I can help strengthen your story and prepare it for success in today's competitive market.

I design and build training programs and eLearning experiences used across courses, internal teams, and business operations.
My work sits at the intersection of instructional design, visual design, and content strategy to ensure materials are structured well, easy to deliver, and built to hold up over time.
I also support how training connects to the broader business by developing branded systems that align training, internal materials, and customer-facing content so everything stays consistent, clear, and scalable. When projects call for broader expertise, I collaborate with trusted specialists in curriculum development and facilitation to deliver cohesive, end-to-end learning solutions.
I focus on how training is organized and applied day to day, so teams are not stuck piecing things together or constantly reworking materials, handling both full builds and refinements based on what the business needs.
What I can support:
• Online courses and eLearning (Articulate Storyline, Rise360, SCORM-ready)
• Training programs, onboarding, and certification tracks
• Participant guides, facilitator guides, and training decks
• Facilitation structure, presentation flow, and delivery materials
• Playbooks, SOPs, and internal documentation
• Content structuring, copywriting, and copyediting
• Visual design and branded training systems to ensure consistency across internal and external materials
• Brand identity, messaging, and supporting materials tied to training, operations, and programs
• Website and digital content that aligns with training and overall business systems
Strong training — and strong businesses — depend on how content is structured, delivered, and maintained over time. I focus on making materials clear, usable, and scalable so teams can implement them without friction.
Selected work includes:
• Designed a 12-month education program guiding renters through the process of becoming first-time homebuyers
• Developed educational options trading content and recurring newsletters for an international brokerage platform, covering foundational strategies, trade types, market concepts, and continued education materials
• Built franchise playbooks and operational handbooks to support consistency across multi-location businesses
• Designed courses and training collateral for nationally recognized skincare brands, including product education
• Supported the development of OSHA-compliant safety training and state-compliant HR and workplace conduct training programs
• Built end-to-end operational, HR, hiring, marketing, and brand systems for a multi-location hospitality group, supporting scalable growth and consistent operations
I bring 18+ years of experience across design and content, now focused on building training programs and learning materials that are clear, practical, and built to last. My work often extends beyond training into the broader systems a business runs on, ensuring everything from internal documentation to external content is aligned, cohesive, and built to support growth.

I help fiction writers strengthen their manuscripts through careful line editing and thoughtful beta reading that improves clarity, pacing, and flow while preserving the author’s voice.
I work with fiction manuscripts at the sentence and scene level, helping writers refine prose without flattening their style or over-editing. My approach is careful and methodical: I focus on tightening language, improving flow, refining dialogue, and reducing distractions while keeping the author’s tone and intent intact.
My editing process uses multiple passes to address line-level issues such as dialogue clarity, repetition, filtering, and sentence economy. I also use before-and-after comparisons and restrained revision to ensure changes serve the story rather than the editor.
I’m a good fit if you’re looking for:
• Line-level feedback that improves clarity and rhythm
• Thoughtful beta reading with specific, actionable notes
• An editor who respects voice and avoids unnecessary rewriting
I work with fiction writers who want their stories to read cleanly and confidently without losing what makes their voice unique.
I can edit according to Australian, British, or American English conventions depending on your publication goals.

Great writing deserves editing that strengthens your voice, not erases it. I help authors, businesses, and nonprofits turn rough drafts into clear, engaging, polished work that connects with readers and keeps them invested.
I’m a copy and developmental editor with a background in education, nonprofit writing, and fiction-focused editing. My approach combines attention to detail with strong reader awareness, so your writing feels both polished and natural.
Here’s what I can help you with:
• Copy editing for grammar, punctuation, clarity, and consistency
• Line editing for flow, tone, readability, and sentence structure
• Beta reading and developmental feedback for fiction manuscripts
• Fantasy, romance, and character-driven fiction editing
• Grant writing and nonprofit content editing
• Audience-focused copywriting and content refinement
Before freelancing, I worked closely with students with hearing loss, which taught me how important clarity, accessibility, and intentional communication truly are. That experience shaped the way I edit today. I focus not only on correctness, but on making sure your message lands with readers the way you intended.
I also have experience writing and editing grants for an afterschool nonprofit, where I learned how to balance persuasive storytelling with structure, organization, and precision.
As an avid fantasy and romance reader and ARC reviewer, I pay close attention to pacing, emotional engagement, character development, and narrative flow. I know how quickly readers disconnect from a story and what keeps them turning pages.
If you’re looking for an editor who will give thoughtful, honest feedback while respecting your voice and goals, I’d love to work with you. Send me a message using the green button at the top of the page, and let’s talk about your project.

I am a heart-centered, human-powered editor and publishing consultant. In 2025, I supported more than 30 authors with nearly 60 books. I focus on making children’s books shine by uncovering the heart of the story and helping to ensure that message is developed on every page. I have served award-winning and best-selling authors, and I have coached first-time authors through publishing their debut picture book.
Working with thoughtful and creative authors is an honor and a joy, and I love helping them shape their stories and enhance the messages they have prepared for young hearts.
Working with me is not a transaction but a partnership, and together we will create something beautiful. My service model includes close collaboration and a team effort to make your story the best version of itself.
***Now booking for mid-April 2026. See pricing below the description of my services.***
What It's Like to Work with Me:
I take time to get to know you and your goals for the project before jumping in. We'll talk about what you hope to accomplish, areas you feel strong in, and where you may need extra support. I'll briefly review your manuscript to determine the level of editing it requires so I can offer you a custom quote. You'll love my warm, encouraging style.
Editing and Proofreading:
I offer all levels of editing for children's books, from picture books and early readers to chapter books and middle-grade fiction. This includes:
- Developmental Editing – I review the story structure, the character arc, plot, pacing, themes, age appropriateness, and more. I leave in-text comments pointing out specific areas for improvement as well as celebrating things you've done well. I also write up a developmental letter with notes for how to improve your story and guidance on the most important steps to take. This stage may take more than one pass as we clarify your story's theme and how to convey the message you want to share.
- Line Editing – Once the structure is in place, I look at your story line by line, focusing on improving flow, exploring rhythm (even in non-rhyming books), clarifying tone, refining your characters' voices, and adjusting vocabulary and sentence structure to fit the developmental needs of your intended audience.
- Copyediting and Proofreading – This final stage of editing ensures correct grammar, usage, and consistency throughout your book. I follow guidelines established by The Chicago Manual of Style, the industry standard in publishing.
Pricing:
Picture Books (up to 1,000 words):
- Editorial Assessment: $140; 1 week
- Developmental Editing – $275; 2–3 weeks
- Line Editing – $195 ($250 for rhyme); 2–3 weeks
- Copyediting – $110; 1 week
- Full-Service Editing Bundle: $495; 4–6 weeks
- Signature Package: $715 ((full-service editing + design/illustration consulting + publishing assistance; requires coordination with illustrator)
Longer Works (10,000 words+):
- Editorial Assessment: $0.015 per word
- Developmental Editing: $0.035 per word
- Line Editing: $0.03 per word
- Copyediting: $0.025 per word
- Formatting: $3.50 per page; only offered to editing clients
Some bundles available. Priority projects are charged a separate rate.
Writing for children is an art—and it’s an honor to help you bring your story to life with clarity, beauty, and heart.
Design Consulting:
I offer holistic planning for picture book design. My goal is to help the text and illustrations work together harmoniously. Using a storyboard (or book map), I help authors communicate their page designs to illustrators so that text placement is intentional, creating a cohesive design. And, as the visual storytelling takes shape, I offer ongoing line editing support to create a tight, cohesive book. My goal is to replicate the process established in traditional publishing houses. This seems to be an important component often missing the self-publishing process.
Kindle Direct Publishing and IngramSpark Support:
Additionally, I offer assistance with publishing your book. This includes layout and design support. I use InDesign to lay out and typeset books. I can also help you upload your book to Amazon (KDP) and IngramSpark. You will receive guidance on your book descriptions and promotional copy as well as promotional guidance.
I offer a "one-stop-shop" to encourage and empower authors to get their meaningful books out into the world. I'd love to discuss how I can support you!
