I received my B.S from the SUNY at Potsdam in Computer Science graduating Magna Cum Laude and my Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology (“Georgia Tech”). I attended for a Ph.D in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (“RPI”). My most recent position was a tutor/teacher at Omega Learning Center and TutorDoctor teaching students from 3rd grade to college students. I also have been a teacher in the New York Mid-Hudson Valley school districts teaching all age groups from 2nd grade to high school students. In college I was a teacher assistant in my undergraduate and graduate studies. During my time in the corporate world I taught training classes. I am a published author for publisher Prentice Hall entitled “Unix Awk and Sed Programmer's Interactive Workbook”. I have taken certification classes in teaching and ESL. I am also a member of the National Tutoring Association, Association for the Coaching and Tutoring profession and American Tutoring Association
I teach Math, Science, Business, Economics, Humanities, Social Science, and Computer Science. Math subjects include Calculus, Statistics, Linear Algebra, and Discrete Math. Science includes all sciences. I have taught numerous students ACT/SAT prep and GRE testing.
While possessing a good understanding of the subject matter is a given for teaching it goes beyond just knowledge of subject matter. It requires interacting with parent, student and teacher so each feels the experience is positive and productive. Passion to see the transformation of seeing an individual struggle with material and then conquering it. Motivating and making material interesting when the student is unmotivated. Capable of meeting all the challenges and dynamics that teacher and student encounter to encourage them to master the material. In addition, teaching them tips and techniques that can help them progress given whether they are good at memorizing, need visual clues, or learn by example.
Be energetic and enthusiastic. It rubs off with the student. With the right balance of energy and enthusiasm the student will be more inclined to feed off it. Clear goals must be established with a time frame associated with it so everyone can determine if the tutoring is working and progress is being met.
Quickly identify the student’s learning style and adapt the course material to their learning style overcoming mental blocks that occur in science and math. Communication, communication, communication cannot be stressed enough. Always be positive and non-authoritative during the course of the lessons.
Mathematics is often so confusing and so boring, but it doesn't have to be that way! Math is not some mysterious subject that only a few can comprehend. As with any discipline, practice leads to proficiency, and that practice needs to be guided by an expert. No one gains mastery in any subject without guidance.
The problem for many people is that they were only told what to do, but never told why to do it. For others, they were never presented with an easy-to-follow step-by-step process for solving problems.
Any educational problem can be fixed, no matter how hard it sounds. There is hope. Hope not for hope sake but with a competent, experienced and skilled tutor who has the experience and training to identify all situations that occur during teaching and using trained and proven techniques to see the light at the end of the tunnel
Give us a try and you will be happy with the results

I build curriculum that works. Not theoretically, actually works. In real classrooms, with real students, across wildly different contexts.
Over the past 11 years I've developed and led educational programs across the United States, Japan, Liberia, Jamaica, and the Pacific. My recent work includes:
- Authored a complete board-approved founding high school program for a WASC-accredited school, launching Fall 2026.
- Developed a gamified middle school ELA curriculum that hit 70% student preference in pilot testing.
- Co-authored a Ministry of Education endorsed entrepreneurship curriculum in Liberia that placed 50% of student participants in internships.
I work across IB (PYP, MYP, DP), AP, American, and British curriculum frameworks.
I've led schools through WASC and NCA accreditation, built online and blended learning ecosystems, aligned curriculum to federal funding requirements (Title I/II/III/IV, ESSER, consolidated grants), and designed professional development programs for teachers across four continents.
My consulting work carries a 5.0/5.0 client satisfaction rating across 50+ completed projects.
I'm a licensed school principal and curriculum developer, not just a writer who knows education theory. I've run a $6M school budget, hired and evaluated staff, and have built programs from nothing. That background means I approach curriculum work with an understanding of what actually gets implemented versus what looks good on paper.
If you need someone who can work independently, deliver clean work on deadline, and communicate like a professional throughout, let's talk.

As an award-winning educator for over three decades, I’ve designed curriculum, edited and graded student work at many levels, and created course content for a wide variety of subject areas. Now, you can tap into my expertise to make these tasks easier for yourself.
Here are some examples of ways I can help you:
• Education: If you’ve got a text and need to have a quiz, homework assignment, or exam based on it, I can prepare both the assignment and the key or grading rubric to use in scoring it. If you’ve got a big set of exams to mark, I’m always eager to help give students feedback. If you’re using blog posts to support your teaching by providing additional material for your students, I can assist with content writing and designing interesting activities for the students to do to engage with the material. If you are focusing on cross-curricular projects, I can suggest ways to integrate learners’ skills and tie together disparate ideas into comprehensive plans.
• Editing: Having taught everything from middle school English to adult basic education to music to university-level ESL/EFL and much, much more, I can edit work at nearly any level. Whether you’re writing a journal article for professional publication or a set of worksheets for high schoolers, I can help strengthen your finished work without losing your personal voice.
• Proofreading: Sometimes, you’ve got a piece of writing that absolutely, positively has to be 100% perfect. An extra pair of eyes and a skilled copywriter can be invaluable. I’m great at finding those nitpicky details that shift a grant proposal, a Master’s thesis, a doctoral dissertation, or portfolio elements from good to excellent.
These are aspects of my work you can count on:
• On-time, punctual delivery with meticulous attention to deadlines
• Fast turn-around
• Zero plagiarism—Anyone else’s work referred to will be fully credited and properly cited.
• Balance of deep understanding of writing conventions with fresh ideas and creative approaches
• Tremendous sensitivity to cultural context—I’ve lived and worked in nine countries on five continents and I’ve taught students from across the globe!
• Cheerful, patient interactions with a positive attitude
I am eager to help your learners and to support you in your education and teaching. Let’s connect and work together!

I'm a Top Rated curriculum developer who builds engaging, standards-aligned learning experiences, and I now help organizations turn AI tools into actual team capability through custom GPTs, Claude Projects, and structured training programs.
My background is in K-12, adult learning, and teacher professional development, where I've led curriculum teams and designed everything from year-long programs to hands-on STEM courses. That same instructional design lens is exactly what makes AI implementations work. Most teams fail with AI not because the tools are bad, but because no one has built the training, workflows, and documentation around them.
What I do:
1. AI training programs for small business and education teams: Onboarding curriculum, video modules, practice exercises, and SOPs that get your team from zero to confident with tools like ChatGPT and Claude.
2. Custom GPTs and Claude Projects: Purpose-built AI assistants trained on your business, designed with the same care I'd give a course (clear instructions, tested outputs, real workflows).
3. AI-powered course and content development: I help coaches, consultants, and education companies build courses faster without sacrificing instructional quality.
4. Curriculum and learning experience design: Inquiry-based and project-based K-12 lessons, full course outlines, STEM and coding programs, and teacher professional development.
5. Leadership in curriculum development: I've led curriculum teams at the K-8 level, overseeing cross-subject content creation and instructional design.
6. Adult learning programs: Practical, accessible modules that support career growth and workplace learning.
I work best with clients who want a thoughtful partner, not just a deliverable. If you have a vague idea and need someone to turn it into a real program with structure, sequence, and something your learners will actually use, let's talk.

¡Hola!
I'm Melisa, Spanish language teacher and educational designer with over six years of experience teaching both in-person and online classes across all levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (A1-C1). My career is marked by combining solid teaching practice with deep expertise in instructional design, enabling me to offer personalized, effective learning experiences aligned with clear goals.
As a freelance teacher, I have designed and delivered individual and group classes, conducted placement tests, planned lesson plans, and created tailored educational materials for diverse learner profiles and styles. I have extensive experience preparing students for official exams such as DELE and SIELE, supporting their development of the necessary skills to achieve their objectives.
At the same time, I have worked as an educational material designer, responsible for designing and creating didactic units and complete pedagogical pathways. My work includes content selection and leveling, continuous editing and updating of materials, and managing educational platforms like Moodle, providing a comprehensive digital experience for students and educators.
I have collaborated with internationally recognized educational platforms such as Babbel Live, where I taught online group classes for all CEFR levels, and Berlitz Corporation, developing content for their Berlitz Flex program focused on Business Spanish for B1 and B2 levels. In this role, I designed activities, produced audio materials, uploaded content to LMS, and performed review, correction, and localization of translations, ensuring precise and contextually appropriate content.
Recently, at Spanish Language Coach, I was in charge of the creation of a pre-recorded course for B1 and B2 levels, integrating innovative approaches based on cognitive grammar. I developed the full pedagogical pathway, didactic units, slides, and interactive exercises using H5P, combining theory and practice to maximize comprehension and real-world language use.
My professional approach focuses on delivering dynamic, communicative, and student-centered learning, with special attention to adapting methodologies and digital resources to enhance the development of linguistic competencies in both general and specialized contexts.
I will be glad to answer any questions you may have.
Best regards,
Melisa
