Hey, I’m Nisa, an award-winning creative writer, copywriter, ghost writer, screenwriter, YouTube scriptwriter, content writer, and children’s book writer. Fiction writing: Certified in fiction writing from Oxford University, I produce content focused on compelling plot and layered character development across niches such as mystery, romance, thriller, drama, and horror. Children's Literature: I position myself as a children’s book and picture book writer, specialising in creating content that not only entertains but also educates. These include moral stories for children and imaginative storytelling to balance both spectrums. Personally, this is my favourite niche as a writer because of how much you can experiment when writing for children by creating imaginative worlds. Screenwriting: As a screenwriter, I specialise in Final Draft, providing a production-ready experience. I excel in storyboarding and script editing, along with strong writing, which helps me create short films and TV scripts through a cinematic approach. However, the tone is adapted according to the requirements of the production. YouTube Scriptwriting: I am also a YouTube scriptwriter who excels at viral scripts, YouTube automation scripts, documentary scripts, and explainer scripts. I ensure I prioritise hook writing to grab the audience's attention within the first 10 seconds. Moreover, I focus on retention-based pacing by establishing a deep connection with the audience to maximise watch time, engagement, and channel growth. Content Optimization: With my vast experience in fiction creative writing, children’s books, screenwriting, ghostwriting, and scriptwriting, I can pick up weaknesses in your existing content and optimize it for better reach, engagement, and overall results. Are you ready to transform your goals into a reality? Then let’s collaborate on your next fiction project, children’s book, short film script, YouTube video script, memoir, or creative writing project.

I'm great with most fiction writing, though I specialize in clean romances. The genres I do not work with are action/adventure (think rack 'em, stack 'em kinds of books), Scottish romance, chat stories (for role-playing games), most Westerns, and erotica. Anything else, I'm game. I love to stretch myself and take on a challenge, so I take on genres I might not otherwise - such as science fiction, fantasy, or historical fiction - due to time restraints or what I'm interested in at that moment. As of June 2021, I have been a top rated-plus freelancer here on Upwork. I take great pride in having achieved this rating, as it has been much work to get here. In May 2022, I was first put on a list of writers approved by the Fiction Profits Academy (or FPA), and currently remain on this recommended writers list. It's a great honor to be on their list, and I look forward to working with their students now and in the future. Previous qualifications include three self-published novels ranging from 200 to 600 pages each, two poems published in anthologies, and one poem shared on FaceBook. Current qualifications include: I have been freelancing since June 2015, and out of the more than 1,000 articles I have written, only eight have been rejected. I graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho with a BA in English in April 2020. Now that I am out of school, I am freelancing full time.

Over the last ten years, I have worked on various creative projects, including screenplays, a musical play, over 100 poems, articles, blog posts, reviews, and my project about a dysfunctional rock band from near-future Kenya (The Shenganiguns). I am seeking opportunities to further exercise my creative muscles while at the same time learning about new kinds of projects.

I’ve been writing professionally and academically for the last thirteen years. I majored in English and Journalism at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I wrote film and music coverage for the school newspaper. I went on to write for a couple print magazines in Minneapolis, covering lifestyle, city life, and business news. I moved to Los Angeles to break into film and television writing. I worked for prominent writer and director Semi Chellas (Mad Men, American Woman, The Romanoffs) for many years as a development assistant. I helped with her script writing, editing, and formatting as well as casting and production decisions. I recently finished a re-write of a feature film that's in pre-production by 3311 Productions and I'm currently on commission writing a drama feature as well as a science fiction animated TV pilot. I've written an animated children's TV show that is in post-production as well as a feature film for the Hallmark Channel. I'm also working as a writer for several NPR local city affiliates, writing weekly news quizzes and crossword puzzles. In my past work as a journalist and my current work in film writing and development I’ve written on an incredibly wide range of topics and have become adept at researching subjects completely foreign to me. My two career paths have offered me plenty of experience in both technical and creative writing. I have a flexible schedule so I can also offer fast turnaround. Feel free to contact me, thank you.

I love telling stories. As an art form, the story is often relegated to creative endeavors. And for good reason since that is where storytelling shines. We look to novelists, essayists, playwrights, and poets to find something that inspires us. We look to them to understand our own experiences and to be brought into the lives of others, broadening our understandings of one another. Storytellers help us to be human. As humans, storytelling infuses everything we do. No matter where we are or what we are doing, we are telling stories. Some excel at this and others struggle, but that doesn’t change the fact that humans need to tell stories to communicate well. I help non-profits, churches, ministries, businesses, authors, and individuals tell their stories through creative writing and editing. We all need help with our stories at times because we find ourselves too attached to make the necessary changes that will make our stories better. As an objective reader with an eye for detail and care for your work, I can help. Let’s connect here to see how we can partner to tell your story.

I've worked in the advertising industry for more than two decades, as an art director and copywriter in Milan. In 2018, with Bookabook Editions, I published the novel "Due pard": the story of two young offenders with very different destinies. In 2019 I published a short story in the collection of Milanese noir authors "Ladri a Milano, Volume II," Il Covo Editions. In the last few years I've gained a good professional experience as a ghostwriter, for different agencies, also through Upwork. The various work experiences gained over many years, my diverse cultural interests (Protohistory, Ancient and Medieval History, Aeronautics, Health, Sports...) have enabled me to be able to work in many areas, as an editor and, most importantly, as a ghostwriter. My output ranges from personal, business and professional biographies, small historical essays, and manuals to the production of novels, short stories and children's stories.

Writing has always been a passion of mine. As a child, I loved making up stories; I had an active imagination as a young girl. I never thought I could make a career out of writing, and I chose a different path when I entered college. In 2010 I moved from Queens, New York, to Orlando, Florida. I participated in the Disney College Program, thought hospitality was my calling, and decided to return to school for hotel management. After seven years in the hospitality industry, though, I realized this was not what I wanted to spend the entirety of my life doing. Before Covid-19, I worked in a preschool as an assistant teacher. I love working with children, but something was still missing from my life. No matter where I worked, I was unhappy and planning to leave within months. When my school closed in March 2020 to combat boredom, I started listening to crime junkies and watching hours of Dateline. I found what was missing in my life when my obsession with true crime began. It took a pandemic, but I figured out what I wanted to do with the rest of my life: share stories of victims and their murderers. Victims deserve to have their stories shared because no one deserves to lose their life at the hands of another. Murderers should have their stories shared so people realize not everyone is what they seem and not to be paranoid but be aware of who and what is around them. Now, I write full-time as my career. I am lucky to work at home with my husband and two cats. My entire day is devoted to writing. Your project will be in safe and reliable hands if my proposal is accepted. Thank you for taking the time to read this! I hope to work with you soon!
