I have been developing applications, specifically for the Windows platform, ... morefor over 15 years. I tend to do more web development and database development these days, but I have written my fair share of desktop applications and Windows services as well. I started out writing VB5/VB6 client/server applications while going to college. After a year or so, I made the switch to ASP & COM (web development). When .NET was released as Beta 1, I was lucky enough to be working for a company that let me spend some time doing a little R&D, and I haven't looked back. I am a guy that attempts to do find the "simplest" way of doing something. I find "over-engineering" an application to be a complete waste of time and resources. When coding, I try to assume that the next developer that will be working on the application will be a "junior" developer. This helps keep the code neat and simple; the architecture the same. I have worn many hats over the years, but tend to thrive when working as a contractor in a telecommute position. I love to work late. I drink a lot of coffee. And, I have a fairly nice home office setup. Thanks for reading. I hope to work with you in the future. - John less
