I graduated from UCLA School of Law in 2000. Since that time, I have worked for various firms, before opening my own firm in 2006. My main area of practice since that time has been appellate work. I have been to the Connecticut Appellate Court and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals approximately 50 times over the past 15 years. I am very good at legal research, and my writing skills are excellent. I have practiced both civil and criminal litigation, and I can write any brief or motion that is needed. I can also help with Medicaid/Title 19 applications.Civil Law

I spent the first three and a half years of my legal career at a civil litigation firm in Great Falls, where I developed my skills as an advocate in both transactional and litigation- oriented matters. I successfully represented clients in matters involving insurance coverage and defense, complex products liability, real estate transactions, and a variety of other legal matters. I was privileged to represent the town of Browning in a water rights dispute before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Likewise, I authored the amicus brief for the Montana Defense Trial Lawyers Association in the case of Meek v. Eighth Judicial District, which examined arbitrary health care pricing in the context of civil lawsuits. My diverse practice experience, along with my skills as a litigator and advocate, can be an asset for a variety of different clients. I also had the great privilege of serving as the Director of Elections at the Montana Secretary of State’s office. I successfully represented the office during the legislative session, assisted in the defense of a federal voting rights lawsuit before the U.S. Supreme Court, and was Montana’s chief elections official charged with administering the first congressional special election in nearly half a century. I also served at the Montana State Auditor’s office as a legal policy advisor. I worked to examine the pharmaceutical industry and create consumer-focused legislative solutions to combat rising prescription drug prices. At the same time, I managed a caseload of insurance and securities regulatory matters, and represented the Auditor’s office in a unit determination matter before the Board of Personnel Appeals. In January of 2021, I was appointed as the General Counsel, then Chief Deputy Attorney General, at the Montana Department of Justice. I supervised more than 50 attorneys and support staff working in areas of criminal prosecution and appeals, consumer protection, multi-state antitrust litigation, and general civil litigation. I provided legal advice and counsel to the Attorney General and the Department of Justice. Most recently, I took on the role of Chief Legal Counsel and Director of Government Affairs for the Montana Family Foundation. In this role, I am responsible for all litigation and legal services provided on behalf of the Foundation, which includes legal services to a variety of elected officials throughout the State of Montana. Further, I am responsible for developing and executing a successful government affairs program both during the regular and interim legislative sessions in Montana. With my broad experience and background, I am confident that I can provide quality legal analysis, service, and consultation for any client. I am licensed in Montana state and federal court, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.Civil Law

Following an education in Philosophy and English/Literature, I have put together a well-rounded life in real estate, business, creative writing and the legal profession. My education provided me with the tools to develop my natural talents to think thoroughly and write well. In the legal profession, knowing that the slightest nuance or the choice of just the right word can completely change an outcome, the ability to write and express yourself well is the key to success. During the last few decades I have researched and written documents for civil and criminal cases for presentation to various Federal & State Courts. My range of experience has been in real estate, civil, bankruptcy, personal injury, guardianship, probate, family and criminal issues. I have also researched and drafted Qui Tam and Bivens Complaints. Legal documents I have drafted have been presented in County, State, Federal, Bankruptcy, BAP and other factions of the legal system. The legal research tools that I have at my fingertips provide me with quick, and thorough, answers to legal issues. Additionally, I work in the creative writing and art fields. I have recently edited a series of 40 books for children and aided in the assembling the writing and artwork in those books for the publisher. I have edited writings from various authors (poets, short story writers, novelists and playwrights). My proofreading and editing work has also been used for white papers, Masters theses, business and legal papers. I work extremely well with deadlines and am happy to put in extra hours to complete projects in a timely manner for a successful conclusion.Civil Law

I am a licensed attorney with over 20 years experience, specializing in business and contracts law, as well as a broad array of general legal topics. I'm a native English speaker and reside in the US. You will find me responsive, accessible, and extremely punctual with deadlines. I take great pride in my work, and don't take assignments I don't feel comfortable doing. When you hire me, know you are getting my personal attention, and your project will get done on time. I am proficient and quick with legal research, re-working legal pleadings, document review, offering appropriate legal insight into situations, writing memos and briefs, and breaking complex problems down into simple issues to tackle one at a time. I'm also extremely well versed in all areas of contract law, including entertainment law and intellectual property. I can definitely help you with whatever contractual needs you have. My contracts are clear, concise, and meant to be understood. Good contracting today drastically reduces your chances of legal issues tomorrow. There is no legal task too small, nor too big for me. I have worked on everything from the most simple contract revision, to multi million dollar medical malpractice cases. With my extensive experience in both state and federal court practice, I can help you navigate whatever your legal matter is. Everyone deserves efficient and zealous legal representation, and whether I'm just doing a contractual revision for you, or helping you navigate through an intense legal drama, you have my full attention.Civil Law
