Dear Potential Client: Hello, thanks for your interest. I have a 100% project completion and client satisfaction rate, over thousands of hours and many projects, large and small, long-term and short-term, fixed-priced and hourly, over the last seven and eight years as an income supplement. I have over 30 years of legal experience, especially in research and writing. I have prepared most types of pleadings and motions from the initial complaint until the appellate brief in most areas of civil law primarily but also some criminal law. My rates are clear, simple, and are based on salaries commensurate with senior paralegals my years of experience and a J.D. degree instead of simply a paralegal certificate or an associate degree in Paralegal Studies. My hourly rate is $45 per hour and my fixed-priced estimates I provide are based on that hourly rate and my best estimate of how much time it will take to complete your projects. For drafting projects, I estimate 1.5 hours for every page of final draft provided, including any document review, legal research, and a round of editing. Additional rounds of editing will increase the cost of a fixed-price contract at a flat-fee additional rate of $45 per hour for each additional round of editing. It is rare that my estimates are not dead on. Also, if the project runs a couple of hours “long” on a larger project, I will not “sweat” time, and, in the rare case, if some unforeseen issue arises, I will stop work immediately and discuss that issue with the client so that we can reach a fair resolution of the issue before continuing work on the project. I adhere to and expect from my client a “fair and reasonable” principle. If the client and I both commit to being fair and reasonable any issues that arise can be worked out to the satisfaction of both parties and not be fatal to either the relationship or the project. I obtain little benefit from an unhappy client no matter how much I might be paid on a project. To make sure I’m a good fit for your project I will provide a fair and reasonable amount of time “interviewing”; I only ask that my perspective clients be fair and reasonable with what and how of my time they need to make a determination without straying into the “work” of the project itself. Thank you again for your time and interest, and I look forward to discussing your project further should the above sound attractive to you. Best of luck with your project either way! Sam
