I graduated from UCLA School of Law in 2000. Since that time, I have worked for various firms, before opening my own firm in 2006. My main area of practice since that time has been appellate work. I have been to the Connecticut Appellate Court and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals approximately 50 times over the past 15 years. I am very good at legal research, and my writing skills are excellent. I have practiced both civil and criminal litigation, and I can write any brief or motion that is needed. I can also help with Medicaid/Title 19 applications.Legal Writing

I have been in the commercial real estate industry for 35+ years and, through this experience, I have written, created, evaluated and analyzed proformas and business plans for companies and specific projects. I have experience in both legal and business backgrounds, but my writing is on the level of the reader; i.e., attorney, consumer, investor, business owners, etc. I was a certified tax preparer and held a Small Business Certification with the IRS. I have represented taxpayers in IRS audits to solve tax issues. I prepared tax returns for individuals, partnerships and S Corps. The most rewarding aspect of this position was to explain to people the effects of the tax code, translated onto a 1040, and applied to their lives and businesses. I write blogs, articles, study guides, and courses accredited by real estate commissions for private providers. I enjoy learning and researching as much as the writing.Legal Writing

If you're looking for a knowledgeable writer who can break complex topics into an easily-digestible read, I am the perfect fit. Even better, I understand how to appeal to target audiences: whether your audience consists of the general public, CEOs, or Judges. I'm a lawyer with experience in virtually every practice area (trusts/estates; contracts; family; immigration; real estate; employment law; business; intellectual property...). I had my own firm so I'm familiar with law office management, marketing (including social media, content marketing, blogging, SEO, e-newsletters, seminars...) human resources, workflows, and legal technology. I have also started a non-profit foundation, planned & pulled off lucrative fundraisers, lobbied legislatures (successfully), analyzed bills & policy, and I ran for office. Yes, I've dabbled in a little bit of everything! I have written everything from website copy to federal appellate briefs-with outstanding results. Chances are, if you need something written-I can provide you with work that will knock your socks off! Bonuses: I'm a native English speaker, with a law degree, and I work from home-so that means faster turn-around and less expense for you!Legal Writing

I help online marketplace sellers manage their overall account health and work with sellers to get their suspended listings or account reinstated on their respective marketplaces (Amazon, Etsy, eBay, etc.). Whether your listings/account has just been suspended and you're not sure what to do, or you've run into so many dead ends with getting reinstated and have no options left, I can help. • I can help clients who no longer receive responses from the businesses with whom they have an issue. • I'll work with you until you see the result you want or all appealing methods have been exhausted; success cannot be guaranteed. • We'll keep in touch regularly to ensure we reach a resolution for you as soon as possible. PLEASE NOTE: I only accept cases I think have a chance for reinstatement, even though I cannot guarantee it. I review the details of every case before I accept them. I will not accept your case if it's clear that your account has engaged in the sale of counterfeit goods, your identity cannot be verified, or it's apparent to Amazon that you've acted maliciously.Legal Writing

I spent the first three and a half years of my legal career at a civil litigation firm in Great Falls, where I developed my skills as an advocate in both transactional and litigation- oriented matters. I successfully represented clients in matters involving insurance coverage and defense, complex products liability, real estate transactions, and a variety of other legal matters. I was privileged to represent the town of Browning in a water rights dispute before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Likewise, I authored the amicus brief for the Montana Defense Trial Lawyers Association in the case of Meek v. Eighth Judicial District, which examined arbitrary health care pricing in the context of civil lawsuits. My diverse practice experience, along with my skills as a litigator and advocate, can be an asset for a variety of different clients. I also had the great privilege of serving as the Director of Elections at the Montana Secretary of State’s office. I successfully represented the office during the legislative session, assisted in the defense of a federal voting rights lawsuit before the U.S. Supreme Court, and was Montana’s chief elections official charged with administering the first congressional special election in nearly half a century. I also served at the Montana State Auditor’s office as a legal policy advisor. I worked to examine the pharmaceutical industry and create consumer-focused legislative solutions to combat rising prescription drug prices. At the same time, I managed a caseload of insurance and securities regulatory matters, and represented the Auditor’s office in a unit determination matter before the Board of Personnel Appeals. In January of 2021, I was appointed as the General Counsel, then Chief Deputy Attorney General, at the Montana Department of Justice. I supervised more than 50 attorneys and support staff working in areas of criminal prosecution and appeals, consumer protection, multi-state antitrust litigation, and general civil litigation. I provided legal advice and counsel to the Attorney General and the Department of Justice. Most recently, I took on the role of Chief Legal Counsel and Director of Government Affairs for the Montana Family Foundation. In this role, I am responsible for all litigation and legal services provided on behalf of the Foundation, which includes legal services to a variety of elected officials throughout the State of Montana. Further, I am responsible for developing and executing a successful government affairs program both during the regular and interim legislative sessions in Montana. With my broad experience and background, I am confident that I can provide quality legal analysis, service, and consultation for any client. I am licensed in Montana state and federal court, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.Legal Writing

I am a professional copywriter, editor, and proofreader with experience across a wide range of publications. I earned my BA in English Language and Literature at University College London (UCL), where I researched and wrote a dissertation on Shakespeare and the Law, learned Old English, and even prepared my own translation of Beowulf from the original! I earned my J.D. at University of Michigan Law School in 2021, where I served for three years as a senior editor on the Michigan Journal of Law Reform. After graduating law school, I clerked for a federal district judge in Nevada, where I researched and wrote legal opinions, many of which are published in the Federal Register. Most recently, I have developed my portfolio as a freelancer on UpWork editing online articles, blog posts, cover letters and other application materials, journal articles, business documents, reports, upper-level scholarship, book manuscripts, and more. I have helped aspiring authors edit and improve their works for publication, guided prospective students through college and graduate admissions, proofread corporate documents, and reviewed marketing materials. My clients' final products have gone on to be published with independent and major outlets alike, including textbooks and major academic journals. Across my experiences, I picked up a variety of editorial methods (including all major citation styles) and am happy to adapt my writing to the needs of the author. In the last year, I have taken on several weekly clients in need of AI fact-checking and editing and assisted them in ensuring their AI-generated materials are polished to perfection. Furthermore, I myself have written multiple articles and blogs using ChatGPT4 and am interested in developing my skills in the field. I care deeply about linguistic precision and want to ensure you are producing clear, succinct, and accurate works of writing for whatever the goal. I am also fluent in Spanish and have performed translation work for Spanish language clients in the immigration law context! I would love to help you develop or finalize your next written work.Legal Writing
