My most recent work experience is with The Hispanic Society Museum & Library as their business manager. The Hispanic Society Museum & Library is a non- profit art museum and library that works with engaging the public and scholars alike through art engagement days and collection related events. At the end of the year, I work closely with the accounting team to prepare the books for tax filing as well as the auditors. I am also overseeing the restriction of funds and managing grants for both restricted and un-restricted sources.Additionally, with the Hispanic Society, I have managed the operation budget in totality as well as worked closely with the development team to manage the grant budgets. I was a key person in consolidating all the department budgets into one cohesive budget, which I maintain. Throughout the month, I keep the departments informed of their individual spending and verify what is included in the budget. I also prepare and manage all financial reporting, including but not limited to reporting to the board, departments, director, tax officials, and the external auditors.As financial manager at Exposure NYCS, I would handle all vendor contact, allowing the client to be hands off in the production process. In handling the financial matters, I was tasked with collecting all necessary billing documents and processing and tracking all payments with a focus on tax filing and executed contracts. When a project finished, it is my responsibility to reconcile the project budget with the actual numbers from vendor payments. With this, I will also do the billing to the client for the final expenses that have not been advanced. In other previous positions, I handled a range of duties. I managed all ap/ar for my clients and communicated monthly reports to maintain their literacy of their finances. As an executive assistant and bookkeeper to a CPA, I would maintain complete electronic and physical files. My knowledge and advanced experience with Microsoft word, excel, adobe acrobat, and general computer systems helped maintain all electronic records and solve any problems that arose.
