Core loop broken? Funnels leaking? Lost in the backlog? Trusted AI too much? I can help you fix that and get your project back on track. Hello, I am Carsten, a game design, UX, and production consultant with 30+ years experience in designing, producing, shipping, and managing video games. My games have been played by millions of players worldwide, achieved five-digit LTVs, and retention of 10+ years. Earlier clients include Siemens, Nokia, BMW, MTV Europe, and FOX Studios. I work as a product owner as much as a designer. I don't just hand over a concept, I own roadmaps, prioritise backlogs, run ideation sessions, and stay through LiveOps. What I work on: Onboarding audits - finding where you're losing users and why, delivered as structured Miro reports with specific recommendations. App deconstructions and reviews - I map the existing loops and flows screen by screen in Miro, identify friction points and come back with concrete solutions and their trade-offs. I know from my own experience how valuable a second opinion from the outside can be. Gamification strategy - progression systems, social loops, streak mechanics, and reward structures built around your retention goals, not generic best practice. Most gamification fails for a simple reason: badges and points don't change behaviour on their own. What changes behaviour is a well-designed core loop, the rhythm of action, feedback, and reward that makes users come back without being pushed. Product ownership - roadmapping, backlog prioritisation, cross-functional coordination from concept to launch. AI prototyping - rapid concept testing before you spend on full development. Concept development - product blueprints in Google Docs or Confluence, user flows in Miro, wireframes in Figma. LiveOps planning - event design, BigQuery/SQL analysis, seasonal content strategy. Tools: AI workflows, Miro, Figma, Unity 3D, Python/Pandas, SQL, BigQuery, Google Analytics. If your engagement or retention numbers aren't where they should be, that's usually a design problem in your core interaction loops. Feel free to get in touch.

Maryam here! Glasgow-based illustrator with over a decade of experience in visual arts and illustration, with a dash of enthusiasm for all things literature! :) I love designing new characters and settings and helping creative people bring their ideas to life, as well as giving new life to already-existing characters in my own vibrant and eye-catching style. My main area of interest to work with is: games, fantasy/sci-fi art, children' picture books, and fan art, but I am open to any and all projects, as long as it gives me an opportunity to do what I love: illustrations! So don't hesitate to get in touch! Looking forward to our collaboration. :)
