I'm a curator, art consultant, and writer with over ten years of experience working with museums, designers, corporate collectors, and artists. My journey has been about curating meaningful exhibitions, creating art collections that reflect the brand and personalities of their collectors, and helping artists find their niche and thrive. Through my exhibitions, I harness my flair for bringing history to life through art. I specialize in unearthing historical gems from archives, pairing them with historical and contemporary artworks, and translating those into engaging narratives. While my heart is in the arts, my mind is finely tuned to the business side of things, ensuring every artistic pursuit aligns with financial and strategic savvy. Early in my career, I worked in finance for a Fortune 500 company, pricing multi-million dollar defense contracts, before I left to complete my Master’s in Visual, Material, and Museum Anthropology at the University of Oxford. Whether you’re a museum, business, private collector, or artist, I'm here to help you tell your story through art, with a seamless blend of passion and professionalism. I am ready to assist you with: - Curating art collections for your home, workplace, or hospitality project. - Writing engaging, well-researched articles on art or historical subjects. - Crafting or editing artist bios or statements. - Advising artists on how to best present their work to consultants and curators. - Guiding artists on best business practices, including pricing, marketing, and branding. - Curating exhibitions, managing all phases from concept development through to installation.History

I've been writing regularly since my first newspaper job in college in 1986, and I've been editing others' writing off-and-on since 1989 -- at my first newspaper job out of college. I've written one unpublished novel and three published books of nonfiction -- two on the rights of children in society, and a brand-new U.S. Constitution. I've written dozens of professional essays for online magazines, including The Savvy Street. I taught writing briefly at the university level (1995) and conducted dozens of private classes at home on "organized thinking" to freelancers from 1993 to 2006. I have a high level of motivation on projects, enjoying the challenges of such undertakings, as well as working with others, when the opportunity arises. I love the writing and editing process immensely.History

Hi, welcome to my profile! I'm Ryan. I work as an archival producer helping filmmakers, authors and YouTube content creators find, license (clearance) and use archival material in their projects. Communicating with and navigating through archives can be a daunting and time-consuming task. Never fear though! I have a Master's degree in Holocaust Studies, which brought me into contact with loads of archives. I have helped authors and filmmakers arrange trips to archives and find the material they need to make their projects successful. These visits included media records (moving and still images), textual records and oral history. On one such trip, a filmmaker found an oral history of his great grandfather that he didn't know about that will be included in his film. I have also filed public records requests on behalf of filmmakers. This includes police body camera footage along with interrogation video. Benefits of hiring an archival producer: Unique media and textual records for your film, The ability to defend your conclusions and beliefs with supporting material, Oppurtunites to show something new, and many more... The majority of archival material has not been digitized. If you want stock images, or other media that hasn't been used regularly or perhaps never been used in a film, you need to visit the archive. Archives are a treasure trove of great media records and audio recordings. If you want a finished project that has unique sources and is original, you need to visit the archive. Textual records encourage you to come to your own conclusions about history. While using already published books or interviews with experts are important, you don't want that to overshadow your own conclusions or beliefs. Archival sources can give you the evidence and confidence you need to defend your position rather than relying on secondary sources. You don't want your film to take someone's work and re-word it. You want your film to reflect you. Archival material gives you the legitimacy do just that. History has an incredibly large depth to it. There are endless possibilities to find material that has yet to be used in a book or another film. If you're investing money, your reputation and your passions on a film, I bet you want to use something new. Be bold and groundbreaking. Searching archives and filing public records requests can provide your film with something brand stinking new. That's the goal! Hiring an archival producer can provide your film with great benefits. If you want to hire me, contact me and we can arrange a free 15 minute consultation to discuss your project needs and my role. I'm currently based in Missoula, MT. I can provide my services remotely and travel to archives in Montana, Wyoming and the Pacific Northwest. If you are an author or researcher, not fluent in German, I can manage orders and inquires. I have contacts in Germany, which we could use to arrange visits to Berliner archives, if required. I have published an ebook "Camaradas: Ode to the Spanish Civil War". It is a translation from German book written by Erich Weinert. I completed the project on my own. I found the copyright holder and gained permission to complete the project. Looking forward to working with you! Ryan Edgar, archival producer, production assistant and archival researcherHistory

I'm a Jill of all trades in the literary world, with years of experience both writing and editing at the literary agency where I work. I'd love to talk with you about editing your novel. Read the testimonials below and peruse the selected published works in my portfolio. Clients have found me to be a good communicator and responsible with deadlines. Others have said I have a sharp eye, and a kind yet blunt critique style. I assure you, I want your project to be the best it can be, and I'll instinctively know the work that needs to be done to get it there. I'm ready to embrace your project as my own, so let's get to work! ***Kindly read this clarification before sending an invite: I don't edit works created either partially or in full by AI, and I do not participate in ghostwriting circles. Also, I don't write query letters, rather, I critique and improve letters that are already written by a book's author. Thanks so much!*** I Prefer: - Fixed price to hourly - Clear expectations - Kindness, always. No matter what needs to be said. - Working on either first 3 chapters (up to 8,000 words), first half (up to 40,000 words), or whole manuscripts (up to 90,000 words). You will get: - Structural/Developmental edits; these are big picture edits. (Random examples: This could be better in a different spot, maybe paragraph 4 of chapter 5 where you introduce this topic. Have you thought about making Mary older to fit her independent lifestyle? Why is Stephan so worried about the cleanliness of the apartment, if in chapter one you said he hired a cleaning lady? I'm wondering if chapter seven can be tightened and merged with six, because it's lagging and I worry readers will lose interest) - Line edits; these occur when a certain line/word is throwing off the story. (Random examples: This sentence is clunky because the subject of the sentence comes after all those other objects and adjectives. Your use of the word Coptic may not be correct since technically these worshipers would be Russian orthodox. Double-check the accuracy of your claim that black widow spiders can kill. Consider editing out the word "felt" from this whole chapter because it weakens the text.) - Grammar/Punct correction; This is like proofreading, but it's best to perform a separate final proofread once you're completely done with all edits. (Examples: spelling of words, word usage, grammar correction, punctuation correction) Can't wait to talk to you about your needs!History

For 32 years, I worked in educational and academic publishing, first as a content editor for Harcourt Brace and Holt, Rinehart and Winston and then as Vice President and Director of Humanities for McGraw-Hill Education. In that role, I oversaw publication of all humanities projects and ensured that MHE rose to become the leading humanities publisher. • In 2014, I left MHE to return to my first love--hands-on editing. • I have worked for a variety of clients, including MHE, Contentra Technologies, The Today Foundation, and MDPI, an open-access publisher of international academic, scientific, and professional journals. • I am equally comfortable with developmental editing, line editing, and copy editing and have a great love of and respect for the English language. • I hold a B.A., cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Washington and Lee University, with a double major in history and communications and an M.S. in Education, summa cum laude, with an emphasis on instructional design, from Northern Illinois University. • Having so much editorial experience, I am naturally experienced with CMS, ACS, MLA, AMA, and APA styles. While I do not have the latest iteration of each memorized, I know where to look to find the answers quickly. • I have worked in a variety of CMSs, including Habitat, InCopy, InDesign, and LaTex. • I believe that active communication is key when undertaking a project. Keeping all stakeholders informed effectively deals with small issues before they become major ones and streamlines product development.History

I have no idea why Upworks does not list me as a native English speaker, but I am. I seek Fiction Writing assignments that utilize my unique life, work, and academic experience to produce an interesting and engaging end product for my employer. I firmly believe that a human's capacity to love is equaled only by it's capacity for deceit. I studiously avoid formula writing, providing an uncommon perspective even on the most hackneyed themes. I have over 75 titles published on Amazon under the pen name Logan Woods, ghostwritten more than 16 full length novels and written and sold more than 500 short stories and novelettes. One of my ghostwritten novellas has been made into a motion picture short that has so far won more than 8 International Film awards. I have worked professionally now as a writer, an editor, a photographer, a magazine layout man, a Municipal Police Officer, a Soldier, and in a variety of positions in the construction equipment rental industry. I am trained historian and an expert copy editor and proofreader, with proven skills in making any text more readable, free of errors, and ready for publication in print or online. I work easily with text of all varieties, including auto-generated, but I specialize in scholarly nonfiction, having edited articles, books, and blogs professionally, for an academic journal and as a personal book editor, for over a decade. I offer: ⭐ Writing guidance: I can assist you at any--or every--step of your productive process, whether you are just starting out or have a nearly completed draft. From helping you break through writer's block to discussing how to enhance the organization of your manuscript, I can help you mentally and editorially through the difficult process of constructing and completing a document. ⭐ Line-by-line editing: Let me follow your lead in optimizing your manuscript's power and style. I will clarify your views, demonstrate how to strengthen the impact of your prose and visual elements, and ensure that the guidelines of your form of work are met. I will standardize your text according to the most-used manuals of style or your own personal style guide. I am comfortable with CMS, MLA, APA, and AP style manuals, but I am also familiar with the importance of checking publishers' house styles to ensure conformity of your project. ⭐ Copy editing: If you are seeking to have the last corrections to your manuscript made--giving it that final sense of polish in style, grammar, and citations, let me help. I will move quickly and with a sure hand to make timely and professional changes that increase the strength and appeal of your argument(s) while rendering your work grammatically impeccable. ⭐ Proofreading: When almost everything about your manuscript is in place, I can perform the final, necessary step prior to putting your work before the public. I correct all grammar, typographical, syntactical, and citation errors, giving my meticulous attention to ensuring consistency of usage across all sections of your manuscript. I can also provide a human touch to enhance AI-generated writing. ⭐ Perhaps my most crucial skill is that I listen. I’ll work with you to craft your ideas and your voice into all you want and need it to be. Whatever your project—large or small, on paper or online—I can guide your thinking, help structure your piece, and will be your last line of defense against errors and inconsistencies.History

The best writing is precise, concise, accurate, and accessible to a non-specialist. I am a native English speaker with extensive editing and writing experience. I am comfortable writing about anything in science or commerce, and specialize in the natural sciences, medicine, psychology, history, and the social sciences. Cryptocurrency has become a subspecialty of mine. I can edit and write about any topic. As a retired professor with a Ph.D., I have published over 70 papers. Forty of those papers have been cited at least 40 times! You can see all my work on Google Scholar, linked on my portfolio. For 15 years, I was an associate editor of "Systematic Biology", one of the highest impact journals in science. I guided many doctoral dissertations to successful completion and was head of admissions in my department. I have a strong record in writing proposals and have been awarded seven NSF grants. I have years of experience in teaching as well, with demonstrated success at primary, secondary, undergraduate and graduate levels. I am passionate about assembling fact-based stories—finding those strange or lesser-known details that make the whole thing more engagingly real is delightful. I have eight years of experience in content writing, from website content to product descriptions to articles, complete with SEO keywords/links. As a personal/research assistant, I’ve honed swift and accurate research skills and practiced impeccable communication daily. I've worked with websites from The Farmer's Almanac to LATV, along with small business owners, authors, and teachers. A bit about me: - I have always been an avid bookworm – as a kid, I regularly consumed entire novels over a single weekend. - I am a firm proponent of the Oxford comma, the careful use of adjectives, and the criticalness of punctuation in communication. - I can and will yatter impressively about the origination of Gothic architecture. (It wasn’t originally creepy!) - I am comfortable using both the Microsoft Office and Google Docs Editor suites, although if you have something else in mind--I'm quick on my feet, I'll catch on. - I tend towards academic writing and longer sentences. That isn't always good or approachable. Thanks to my years of experience in online content writing, I can take the 20-words-or-less approach as needed. (I don't always use hyphens to cheat either...) - It is a personal point of pride to ensure you are entirely satisfied with the results of our contract -- I know that sounds cliche, but it is nonetheless true and nearly impossible to find a unique way to say!
