Everyone has a story, so everyone needs an editor. My most meaningful work is in the shaping of words, finessing every project into its most fully realized form. I'm a writer's editor, having worked for newspapers, magazines, and the web for 20 years. You will almost always find me with a book or pen in my hand, if I'm not at my desk editing a manuscript or assignment. A bachelor's in English and master's in writing form the bedrock of my lifelong study of literature in all its forms. If you need an editor or proofreader, odds are I am more than qualified (and very eager to get started). I pride myself on keeping a diverse pool of clients, with projects that range from financial materials for American Advisors Group to line edits for authors like Christopher Murphy (The Other Side of the Mirror, Where the Boys Are). Name it, and I've edited it: commercial pieces, flash fiction, website ads, product packaging, email campaigns, slideshows, poems, recipes, blogs, business newsletters, short stories, children's books, travel guides, exposés, memoirs, screenplays, novellas, and so much more in just about every industry and genre. Empathy is an underestimated force of nature that informs my own writing, along with my all-in process as an editor and proofreader. My first priority is learning from my clients what kind of editor they need and how I can be the most successful fit for the work ahead. Is there a resume in need of structure? A novel in need of a thorough and careful eye? Perhaps the company needs an editor to freshen up the website. Whatever the project, I will gladly make room for it in my calendar. It is always a thrill and honor to showcase my skills.

I currently teach psychology at Southcentral Community and Technical College in Kentucky. I am currently not looking for work. I currently teach both online and inperson. I have taught the following classes at KCTCS: General Psychology (in person) Human Relations (online) Lifespan Psychology (online) Research Methods (online) I recently graduated from Georgia Southern University and have a master's in psychology with a focus in experimental research (3.9 GPA, 4.0 scale). I graduated from Georgia State in Dec 2022 with a 3.9 GPA (4.0 Scale) and a bachelor's of science in psychology and a minor in neuroscience. I was a TA and the primary instructor of a biomechanics lab at Georgia Southern. I taught 3 sections than each met once a week. The class focused on helping students move biomechanical formulas learned in the lecture into Excel. I graded assignments, held office hours, and answered emails for an average of 15-20 students per section. I have experience with script writing and editing from my job at Science Gallery Atlanta, where I worked on the marketing team and ran the podcast team. I have attached a sample of a script I wrote for our drug education episode, although we never ended up publishing it, unfortunately , as the whole podcast project was scrapped. Still, I'm proud of the writing I did, and I think it showcases my abilities to write engaging educational content. I have two semesters of experience as a teaching assistant for Introductory Biology I. I ran an adjunct class for students having problems in the main lecture. I created lesson plans and designed games and study materials. I have attached a sample of one of my powerpoint games and a lesson plan from that time.

After taking a hiatus from Upwork in order to focus on my screenwriting career, I've decided to get back into the swing of things in order to leverage my storytelling experience, love of character, and world-building expertise in a new field: narrative design. Games have always been a passion of mine. The games that hook my attention most are (and have always been) amazing stories at their cores. Stuff like Witcher III, where your choices truly matter. Like Persona 5, where relationships evolve and change. Like Dungeons & Dragons, where anything is possible. Like Pokemon, which... okay, these days, is mostly my guilty pleasure. The point is, those are the kinds of games I dream of making. Where actions have consequences and players get to watch a story unfold, and where players get to be a part of something meaningful, exciting, and different than their ordinary lives. And if that's what you're looking to create as well, then please reach out. I'd love to connect and see how I can help, be it with writing quests, dialogue, characters, item descriptions, or even core concepts.
