It was quite a challenge to make it fast, and involved a lot of fundamental computer science techniques and efficient data structures. • Advanced computation techniques: Techniques such as SIMD, multi-threading, GPU acceleration, and smart data structures can do remarkable things when implemented right. This is often one of the areas where iOS developers tend to fail, because if an algorithm isn't designed and tested right, it can cripple an app. • Core Data, Realm: I have years of experience with Core Data, however in recent years I've started to greatly prefer using Realm DB instead. Core Data is quite old at this point and requires a ton of boilerplate code that can be difficult to maintain, Realm is significantly simpler and faster. • Security: This is often a highly overlooked factor, and it has never been more important. Simple security techniques such as HTTPS, secure password hashing, and encryption can be easily implemented to make an app secure.
