Over 20 years of experience in the accounting industry in both public and private accounting. Extensive experience in large construction and manufacturing companies and continually preparing over 300 business and personal taxes each year. Possesses a comprehensive amount of knowledge in all areas of the accounting process due to past work experience and current business, from general ledger management to filing tax returns. I started off in public accounting helping companies prepare financial statements, review P&L statements, auditing, and general business and personal tax returns. In this position, I prepared taxes for personal individuals, small Schedule C businesses, rentals, farms, S-Corps and partnerships. From there, I moved to an international manufacturing company where I helped lead the accounting team in general month-end closing procedures, costing, preparing reports for the C-level management team and general ledger accounting. I then used my costing background to help a large, $300M+ revenue construction company work on better costing. While there, I helped to implement a comprehensive backlog program to project future revenue so that we could better analyze the trends that we were facing and to see where we needed to be more aggressive in our estimating. I also helped analyze the WIP reporting on a bi-weekly basis to determine how our jobs were doing and used this data to create job trackers for the company. Project managers use these trackers to help analyze how the job was doing and could easily compare versus previous weeks as well as compare versus the estimate with this tracker. Finally, I helped devise a system to track what jobs were over and under-billed to help with cash flow and to keep our working line of capital to a minimal to reduce interest costs.
