I am an Accountant with over 20 years of Accounting experience and a BS in Accounting. I have my QBO ProAdvisor status and I also am experienced with Xero, Wave, Freshbooks, Sage, Netsuite and Zoho. Most businesses contact me when their accounting numbers stop making sense. The bank will not reconcile, payroll reports do not match the books, inventory and COGS are wrong, or financial statements cannot be trusted. Often the books appear complete, but the underlying accounting structure is broken. This is where most of my work begins. Accounting Diagnostic Review Many clients are not sure what is actually wrong with their accounting system. Before beginning a large cleanup, I often start with a diagnostic review of the books. During this review I examine the accounting file, reconciliation history, financial statements, and supporting reports to identify where problems are occurring. The result is a written summary outlining: • reconciliation issues • incorrect chart of accounts structure • payroll or tax reporting discrepancies • inventory and COGS problems • financial statement inconsistencies • recommended steps required to correct the books This allows business owners to clearly understand what needs to be fixed before investing in a full cleanup project.
