Often the books appear complete, but the underlying accounting structure is broken. This is where most of my work begins. I specialize in stepping into accounting systems that have become messy, inconsistent, or unreliable and rebuilding them into accurate financial records that business owners can rely on. My work often involves identifying where the breakdown occurred, correcting the accounting structure, and restoring financial reporting that management can actually use. I have more than 15 years of hands-on accounting experience across industries including construction, manufacturing, e-commerce, healthcare, and technology startups. I operate Bloss Financial Services as a one-person accounting practice, which means clients work directly with the accountant doing the work. Nothing is outsourced and every engagement receives direct attention from start to finish. Accounting Diagnostic Review Many clients are not sure what is actually wrong with their accounting system. Before beginning a large cleanup, I often start with a diagnostic review of the books. During this review I examine the accounting file, reconciliation history, financial statements, and supporting reports to identify where problems are occurring. The result is a written summary outlining: • reconciliation issues • incorrect chart of accounts structure • payroll or tax reporting discrepancies • inventory and COGS problems • financial statement inconsistencies • recommended steps required to correct the books This allows business owners to clearly understand what needs to be fixed before investing in a full cleanup project.
