By the time a hardware problem becomes visible, it's usually already expensive. A battery compartment that's slightly undersized. A PCB that technically fits but complicates assembly. An injection-molded enclosure that looks perfect in CAD yet needs three tooling revisions before it survives production. These problems rarely appear overnight they're the result of Industrial Design, Electronics, and Mechanical Engineering decisions made independently instead of evaluated as one system.
That's where I add value. I work at the intersection of **Industrial Design, Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, and PCB Design**, taking hardware products from concept through **production-ready CAD, manufacturing drawings, and working prototypes** with a specific focus on **injection-molded enclosures that house PCBs, electronics, and connectors in tight, space-constrained form factors.**
WHAT I BRING TO A PROJECT
My core discipline is Industrial Design and Product Design translating a rough concept, a sketch, or existing electronics into a manufacturable product. I handle **3D Design, 3D Modeling, and CAD** (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Rhino, and equivalent parametric/surfacing tools) for enclosures, consumer electronics housings, and mechanical assemblies, and I use Concept Design to explore multiple directions before committing to a single geometry. Renders are produced in **KeyShot** for photorealistic, client- and manufacturer-facing visuals.
Because so much of what I design has electronics inside it, I also work directly on the **Electronics and PCB Design** side of a project reviewing or coordinating PCB layout for Circuit Design, electrical fit and clearance, connector placement, board-to-board interfacing, and supporting embedded system integration for microcontroller-driven, Arduino-class hardware. I treat the enclosure and the board as one problem, not two deliverables handed off between teams.
**Thermal management** is built into every enclosure I design, not bolted on afterward — heat dissipation paths, thermal via farms, heat sink geometry, and thermal pad compression are evaluated alongside component placement, not after it. Where a product needs to meet **IP ratings (IP54/55/66)** or **UL compliance**, that's a design constraint from day one, not a problem solved in the last revision.
Every project is checked against **Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)** principles before it goes near a tooling quote: tolerance stack-ups, GD&T, draft angles, wall thickness, fastener strategy, mold/parting-line considerations, and how the product actually goes together on an assembly line — not just how it looks in a render.
RECENT REPRESENTATIVE WORK
**Schematic capture and PCB layout** for a regulated power-supply board, carried through from Circuit Design to a fabricated, assembled physical board hands-on PCB Design work, not just enclosure styling wrapped around someone else's electronics.
**Full mechanical and electronics integration** for a ruggedized handheld diagnostic device: two-board PCB-to-housing fit, EMI shielding layout, board-to-board interfacing, dual-durometer injection-molded enclosure design for drop protection and IP-rated sealing, and fastener-accurate **exploded assembly documentation, section views, and BOM** used for real manufacturing communication not marketing images.
HOW I WORK
Every engagement starts with constraints, not aesthetics: cost targets, PCB requirements, manufacturing method, assembly sequence, thermal path, compliance requirements, and user expectations. I don't treat Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Industrial Design as separate lanes the enclosure affects the PCB, the PCB affects component placement, and component placement affects thermal performance, materials, and manufacturing cost.
Deliverables are built for real production use: **STEP, IGES, and STL files**, fully dimensioned **manufacturing drawings**, exploded and section views, assembly drawings, and DFM notes flagging manufacturing risk before tooling is cut.
WHO I WORK WITH
I work with startups, founders, inventors, and product teams building **consumer electronics, wearables, IoT devices**, and footwear or sporting goods hardware. Some clients arrive with a concept sketch and nothing else. Others already have electronics finalized and need a manufacturable, injection-molded enclosure built around them. Others have CAD ready and need it prepared for prototyping or a DFM review before a manufacturer quote.
Whatever stage a project starts at, the objective is the same: a product that works in the real world not just in a render, not just in a single hand-built prototype, but through the entire journey from concept to volume production.
If you need someone who understands both the product a customer holds and the PCB, mechanical, and manufacturing decisions that determine whether it actually ships, I'd be glad to discuss your project.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "Best result, as always. Lightning fast 3D CAD Designer"
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "Praise is an excellent designer who went the extra mile to deliver exceptional work, he was able to come up with manufacturable mechanical parts just from some rough sketches, I really recommend this service.
Need a CAD model that actually goes into manufacturing, not one that needs to be redesigned later?
I help inventors, startups and engineering teams transform ideas into production-ready products with precise, manufacturable CAD designs.
My Ideal Clients
You're a great fit if you:
✔ You're developing a new product.
✔ You have sketches that need professional CAD models.
✔ You're building a medical device.
✔ You're preparing for CNC machining, injection molding or 3D printing.
✔ You're an inventor preparing for patents or prototypes.
✔ You're a startup moving from concept to manufacturing.
✔ You need production drawings with correct tolerances.
✔ You need an experienced designer that thinks like an engineer, not just a CAD operator.
I work with clients who understand that quality engineering is an investment.
Many products fail long before manufacturing because the CAD model wasn't designed correctly.
I help eliminate problems like:
• CAD models that aren't manufacturable
• Parts with impossible tolerances
• Weak assemblies
• Components that can't actually be assembled
• Designs requiring unnecessary machining
• Missing technical drawings
• Poor parametric structure
• STL files that can't be edited
• Design revisions becoming expensive because the model wasn't built properly
• Products that look good but fail DFM review
Instead of simply drawing parts, I design products that engineers and manufacturers can actually build.
What You'll Gain
Working with me means you'll receive:
✔ Manufacturing-ready CAD models
✔ Design for Manufacturing (DFM) consideration
✔ Parametric models that remain easy to modify
✔ Faster prototyping
✔ Reduced manufacturing costs
✔ Better communication with suppliers
✔ Complete technical documentation
✔ Faster revisions
✔ Long-term engineering support
✔ Reliable communication
✔ On-time delivery
We may not be the right fit if:
✘ You only want the cheapest possible solution.
✘ You expect engineering-quality work in unrealistic timelines.
✘ You don't value communication during product development.
✘ You need someone to simply "trace a sketch" without considering manufacturability.
✘ You aren't open to professional engineering recommendations.
That's perfectly okay, I'm committed to delivering high-quality work to clients who value thoughtful product development.
I believe in delivering lasting value over the lowest price. If you're looking for engineering-quality work that's accurate, manufacturable, and built to last, I may not be the cheapest option, but I aim to save you time, revisions, and manufacturing costs in the long run. If budget is the only deciding factor, I may not be the right fit.

Hi, I’m Joshua.
A lot of the projects I work on start with something that isn’t quite ready yet: an existing plan that needs to be updated, a concept that needs to become buildable, or a project that needs architectural and structural drawings brought together. That’s where I come in.
I work across residential and light commercial design, with a focus on turning concepts, sketches, PDFs, surveys, and existing drawings into clear, coordinated construction documentation.
My completed work includes single-family residences and custom homes to additions, ADUs, garages, decks, remodels and multi-unit residential projects, including both architectural and structural documentation.
-Architectural & Permit Drawings
I can develop or revise:

Plumbing
Plumbing plans
Water supply
Drainage
Waste and vent
Gas supply
Riser diagrams
Plumbing schedules
Plumbing details
Electrical
Power plans
Lighting plans
Panel schedules
Single-line diagrams
Electrical schedules
Electrical notes
My typical workflow is pretty straightforward: I review what you already have, establish the existing conditions, develop the design or revisions, coordinate the different disciplines, then work through the necessary revisions before delivering the final drawings.
That coordination is important to me. A floor plan might look perfect on its own, but if a beam conflicts with an HVAC run, a foundation doesn't work with the framing, or a site layout creates a grading problem, the issue eventually shows up during construction. I try to catch those things while they're still easy to fix.
I work with AutoCAD, Revit, ETABS, RISA-3D, STAAD.Pro, Tekla Tedds, Civil 3D, SketchUp, SAP2000 and Bluebeam, depending on the project requirements.
I also work with standards and codes including IRC | IBC | ASCE 7 | ACI | AISC | NDS | NEC | IMC | IPC | IECC | Florida Building Code | California Building Code
I work with homeowners, architects, builders, contractors, developers, and other design professionals, and I'm comfortable starting from either a complete drawing package or just the information you currently have.
If you have an existing drawing, PDF, sketch, survey, model, or project brief, send it over so we can get started !!!
