Hi all! I had a successful run with UpWork a few years back and decided to take a break to focus on my career and education. I am back now, hopeful and willing to take on any Excel/Access and custom scripting projects. I formerly worked as a metrology lab supervisor (if you want to talk about measuring things in nanometers we can do that too!), quality engineer, and in quality managmeent. I have a heavy background in industrial quality control but that has proven quite useful in programming and the way it is approached. I have been an avid amateur programmer for several years. I have learned some languages to an extent; C,C++,C#, Python and VB.NET to name a few. My strong skills have always resided in Excel and Access and utilizing VBA. I soon became the Subject Matter Expert at my place of employment and gained a lot of experience but also realized that I had found a niche and I really enjoyed this type of work. Identifying low- and non-value-added processes and replacing them with cost-effective solutions has been my calling card. My professional work began in the mid-90's and featured the creation of Formulation Management and Distributed Service Request Management applications (VB 4.0). These programs allowed a small chemical business to provide its sales force with additional marketing tools to help drive sales, and streamlined processes that eliminated faxing between satellite offices. Throughout the early 2000's my focus turned to Automated Document Generation systems, built primarily using MS-Office applications (Access, Word, Excel) driven by VBA coded modules. My major milestone was a fully integrated, customized MS-Access application automating a multi-billion dollar organization's entire document process.
