However, unless it is used for the development of repetitive standard content and solutions, it should not be seen as a replacement for human expertise, strategic and creative thinking, and client specific solutions that deliver compelling, ethical, and cost-effective proposals that build trust and achieve desired outcomes. Responding to RFxs, and producing of proposals, may necessitate submission of questions or clarifications of client requirements, research, and coordination across multiple departments or external service providers. Development of cost-effective solutions, also come into play. I HAVE THE EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS TO PROVIDE THIS SERVICE. I'm an innovative thinker and a diligent researcher. I understand the difference between opinion and fact. I'm careful about sources and insist that the plural of anecdote is not data. I’m analytical and focused and strong on structure. I enjoy distilling sense out of overload, clarity out of confusion. I’m focused, have learnt to ask the right questions, think on my feet and make decisions. Long form writing is my strength - proposals, articles, manuals, white papers, requests for proposals - on the environment, architecture, town planning, infrastructure, engineering, construction, roads, bridges, railways, machines, tools – all these are grist to my mill. And so is scriptwriting. I’ve done a lot of scriptwriting, for all manner of programs. I’ve designed and written educational programs and television series, including prime time comedy. I’ve written scripts for corporates and for NGOs. Because I’ve got an eye for the absurd, I enjoy writing comedy. It takes imagination and is hard work but it’s work that makes me laugh. I’m happy. With absurdity as my muse, there's always plenty to amuse. I’m also a designer – for me it comes with the territory. I’ve always wanted to change the world – no big deal – just one article, one campaign, one television series, one book, one set, one house, one dolls’ house at a time. I run a one-man-band architectural practice, and have designed and built houses and conservatories, sets for commercials and television series, show stands, garden follies and other structures. Wherever I’ve lived, I’ve had a workshop, making furniture, models, toys – as they happen along. I think I can fairly claim to be able to ‘speak’ science, architecture, engineering, manufacturing and several other disciplines. I’m as at home on the factory floor as I am in the board room.
