The words that describe me? Enthusiastic, dedicated, and most of all: meticulous. My passion for high quality work is without parallel. I completed graduate school at the internationally competitive London School of Economics, placed at the top of my class in two out of three courses, and was in the top 10% of the other course. In one class I was the first person in history to finish the course with a perfect score. I am a specialist in the following subjects: Social Anthropology (cultural analysis), Political Science, Foreign Policy Analysis, East Asian International Politics, Ethnic Conflict, and Modern China. I also have training in economics and medical research analysis. As an editor I specialize in evaluating the logical consistency and strength of argument and rhetoric. My writing background includes international documentaries, newspapers, and television. Some of my most recent public articles have appeared in The Diplomat and International Policy Digest. I have also worked as an academic writing consultant at the graduate school level.Public Policy

I fuse storytelling with strategy to help NGOs, and education startups, like Mastory and OneWater, craft emotionally evocative narratives. My aims are to move policy and turn complex ideas into compelling public action. BA degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, at the University of British Columbia (2020-2025). With a focus on 'lobbying through storytelling', I was able to merge my passion for film and storytelling, while also maintaining a more "conventional" approach to academia. Examples of related work, include: - El Espíritu de Nuestro Mar (The Spirit of Our Sea), 2024. Co-producer/Editor/Writer/Camera Operator. Somos Oceanos. United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development. As a sub-group of the University of Oxford-born OneWater, our team in Somos Oceanos was tasked with creating a documentary project that would promote inclusive management of the Marine Protected Area (MPA) of the Espiritu Santo Archipelago - located near La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mex. I co-wrote the main script for narration (in Spanish), organized meetings, and operated camera b. [website and film's link, below]. - Heart Rider, 2023. Writer/Director/Editor. Finalist and Special Mention in the Global Shorts Festival, 2023. A documentary/character study of Brock Tully, a self-proclaimed activist that has cycled over 50,000km throughout North America to raise awareness for a "kinder" world [link for trailer can be found below, and the full 36min film is provided upon request]. - Mastory, 2021. Content Writer. Gates Foundation Committed Grant. Amidst the creation of a prototype AR videogame to replace/augment schoolbooks, the team at Mastory - an educational platform dedicated to math teachers - hired me to assist in character designs, dialogues, origin stories and world lore. The story revolved around a “mad” scientist, who, after finding traces of alien activity in the school, contacts the students for help. By solving math equations, the students would try to find the scientist's daughter - kidnapped by the strange creatures. Sometimes I was asked to write articles, as well. Projects outside my specific academic area are still affiliated to storytelling, and include: - Oneironaut: Vigil and Cognition, 2021. Director/Writer/Lead Actor. International Silent Film Festival Official Selection. After receiving a magic box of matches, Agustín de Zaragoza falls into profound nightmares, where he confronts his major fears while trying to escape. A series of revelations will take him to the darkest corners of his own being [link below]. - The Tap-Dancing Fish, 2023. Lead Actor/Locations Manager. Commissioned by The UBC Film Society. I was asked to assist in portraying the antagonist of Ethan White's directorial vision of kinship rivalry. A grinchean character, my role consisted in portraying a fisherman that sabotages his father's funeral out of spite for his adoptive, tap dancing, anthropomorphized-fish, sibling. [link for trailer, below]. Full film is yet to be released, due to necessary unreleased festival constraints. - Tortilla, 2024. Lead Actor. Farah Khalil's directorial thesis for the Vancouver Film School. My character Miguel, a teenage boy, is forced to have dinner with the family of the girl he has a crush on. My prospective mother-in-law will only allow Camila (Tamara Pelayo) to have a date with me if I have dinner with the whole family first. Chana (Aida Hernandez) takes it upon herself, alongside Camila's siblings, to make my experience a living hell [link for trailer, below]. I have also worked as a reenactor for National Geographic's Hitler's Last Stand (S5.E2 and E5), 2022, portrayed an extra for a series of Walmart + commercials, 2023, and worked in projects affiliated with UBCP/ACTRA (Union of British Columbia Performers); such as Wine and Coffee, 2024 [link, below], and A Story of Snow, 2024. The latter, winner of the Audience Choice Award in the Small File Film Festival. - 'Spooked Nation', 2022. Content Writer/Voice Actor. The videos I wrote and voiced, covering tales and legends of 'the chupacabra', 'Area 51', and 'scary videos found on the internet', have now been deleted. After providing the owner of the YouTube page a few pieces, the channel was sold.Public Policy

I am passionate about academic writing and research, and have used my educational and professional experience to contribute proofreading and editing services to aid university faculty in their research pursuits. I am a graduate of the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University, and have applied my knowledge of international affairs theory and practice to advise government and academic clients on matters of importance to their policy and research development endeavours. I am most comfortable editing and proofreading papers in the social sciences - particularly those suited to an academic or government context - in the areas of political science, international relations, philosophy and economics. I am comfortable providing services in English (U.K. and U.S. variations) and have extensive experience and familiarity with Chicago and APA formatting and citation styles. Meeting client expectations is of paramount importance to me; therefore, I work best when given clear and specific guidelines on the purpose of the project, any special considerations, or anything else deemed critical to know. I a nutshell, I am an seasoned postdoctoral researcher and experienced practitioner in community resilience, politics, gender and diversity in Canada. I am gifted in independent research, and passionate about collective project management for community capacity building. Throughout my career, I have focused my research on Canadian governance of immigration and management of diversity through policies targeting integration, as well as majority-minority relations in Canada. I love deep research as much as participative projects. My academic journey points to my passion for research on public policy, diversity, and minority rights in the context of Canada, and I hope to further advance Canadian research on governance on immigration and the protection of minority rights in a time of rising polarization.Public Policy
