There is a paper (http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1550413114004999) that used mass spectroscopy to quantify the levels of all proteins in mouse livers. In the "Supplemental Information" section, the second exhibit has a file ("mm2," which is attached) that contains the raw study data.
Could you help me understand how to interpret this data? Specifically, if I have a specific protein (eg, HFE) and I know what row it is on, how do I use this data to get to a "mcg/mL" concentration level? Specifically, what are the units of values in the table, and how do we convert those units into "mcg/mL?" Also, how are the columns different and, if I just want to know the expression level of the protein overall in the liver, which columns should I use?
Many thanks for the help.
