Seeking a talented Drupal 7 System Admin (SysOps) that has extensive expertise with Couchbase, Memcache, Varnish and Nginx. We are an innovative, fast-paced early-stage company based in California. While this project is defined below, there may be an opportunity for on-going contract work once this project is successfully completed. **Before engaging your services, you will be interviewed by a domain expert. Do not submit a proposal unless you have extensive experience with Couchbase.** REQUIREMENTS Expertise with all of the following are required: * Drupal 7 sysops * Couchbase * Memcache & Drupal Caching * Nginx * Varnish * Cloudflare * Investigating and fixing issues with complex server and site configurations CURRENT SYSTEM CONFIGURATION * Drupal 7 e-commerce site with cloud-based horizontal scaling ** multiple nodes for frontend ** multiple nodes for MariaDB * memcached service * php library (PECL) for memcached * memcache module by drupal * nginx (no apache and no apache server libs) * Cloudflare * New Relic * Theming for site utilizes Drupal Panels * Dev, Staging and Prod environments * current configuration is similar to this setup (except we do not use apache or apache server libs for it): http://andrewdunkle.com/2012/how-to-install-memcached-for-drupal-7.html SOLUTION NEEDED We have encountered issues implementing Couchbase and are seeking a Couchbase expert to fix and optimize the implementation. * What seemed like a transparent subsitution (internal Couchbase memcache server in the place of standard memcache server) turned out to be a non working solution. * Couchbase has a service that acts like a proxy and runs on standard memcache port 11211, redirecting all memcache requests to it's internal memcache instances and it seems like drupal cannot communicate with this server. * Even though there is no error in status page, or error logs that memcache server cannot be reached, memcache statiscis page shows blank information (strangely showing the version of standard memcache server, even though it's off) PROJECT MILESTONES & PAYMENTS Milestone 1: Implement, configure and optimize Couchbase internal memcache service. * Instead of standalone memcache service (which we are currently using), implement, configure and optimize Couchbase internal memcache service. * Payment upon successful completion = 25% Milestone 2: Implement, configure and optimize Varnish * Payment upon successful completion = 25% Milestone 3: Assess nginx, Drupal 7, Couchbase and Varnish along with New Relic statistics to further optimize configuration and performance. * Compare current page load times to previous stats to demonstrate that site performance for each page load is significantly faster than it was previously. * If a page is found to have no performance gain or only minimal performance gain (less than or equal to 5% improvement) then investigate and resolve performance issues. * Payment upon successful completion = 50% Freelancer will report to our lead developer. Please be willing to work with our lead architect/developer to complete each milestone. This includes providing daily updates via HipChat and Skype voice. Successful completion means that milestone fully resolved and the items for that milestone, including both source and compiled code, have been fully deployed to, tested on and confirmed working on all three environments (dev, staging and prod servers/websites). Company determines when a milestone has been successfully completed. If all goes well on this project then there is potential for on-going contractor work.

500$ to provide us the solution. Before bidding make sure you already have a provider who can offer the solution because this is what we are primarily looking for. We are looking for someone to develop or provide us with a RAID 15 or RAID 16 cluster with total 100TB of space. It is for a web picture site. You would need to suggest us the service of a datacenter to do this. Datacenter should be outside USA. We have a budget of 300$ per month per cluster including your management services. We would prefer to rent cloud or dedicated server but if this does not exist for RAID 15 or 16 you would need to suggest us to buy the hardware and collocation.

Hi, I'm looking for someone to setup a "Linode 8GB", the stats on it can be seen here: https://www.linode.com/pricing I want it to have cPanel installed (I will supply licence) and to be fully configured for php/mysql speed. We don't host many sites but we want them to be as fast as possible, that is why we want to go for the 8GB Linode. All sites are either Wordpress (most), static HTML or Cakephp (these are going to be updated to the latest php7 compatibility version by our developer). In the past we've had issues on a linode that I don't think was properly setup. This is our current server so you can take a look at it and see if you can diagnose the issues to ensure they don't happen again on the new machine. A list of tasks would be: - setup new Linode - install cPanel - configure mysql & php for optimal speed for end user website visitors (need extremely fast page load) - analyse existing Linode to find issues and ensure they are not replicated on the new Linode - install packages that are required for the websites (git, maybe some php packages, can these be viewed on old Linode?) - secure Linode as best as possible and provide all access details etc - ensure log rotation is setup correctly so file system doesn't get filled (had issues with error_log in home directories before) - transfer all existing sites from the old Linode to the new one and create some blank cPanel accounts for sites we will move in the future: - 5 empty accounts to create - 7 cPanel to cPanel accounts in transfer (should be able to go via cPanel import function) - 1 account requires a manual import as the domain has changed - perform some checks after 2 weeks, 1 month and 2 months to test the Linode and make sure it is all working correctly - ideally we would also like to be able to use you in the future for ad hoc server checks/maintenance/fault finding etc Are there any other things you would recommend that we do as part of this work? Any other ideas you have for making the server and webpage load times fast? Such as optimising http keepalive or other such things? Thanks, Tom.
