I help builders and specialty contractors turn the tools they already own into clear workflows, reliable ownership, practical SOPs, and a weekly view of what is moving, what is blocked, and what needs a decision. Problems I can help solve: - Estimate-to-project handoffs that lose information - Construction software the team never fully adopted - Change orders, RFIs, selections, and closeout items scattered across tools - Schedules and task assignments nobody trusts - Weekly reporting that requires hours of chasing people - Recurring administrative work suitable for controlled, human-reviewed AI assistance A typical first engagement is a focused diagnostic or a five-day workflow rescue. - I map the current process, - Find the failure point, - Repair one workflow inside the tools you already use, - Test it on a live project, - Document it in a practical SOP, - and hand it back to the team. I started my construction career at the blunt end of a shovel. There’s hardly a job I haven’t done, a work segment I haven’t organized, or a kind of project I haven’t helped run. I know what it’s like to run a company from the seat of a pickup truck—or make decisions standing on the edge of a 27-foot-deep sewer trench. That experience shapes every system I build. It has to work for owners, project managers, superintendents, and crews doing real work under real pressure. Your software should capture information once, make the next step obvious, and give everyone less to remember and less to chase. If your systems make the field team’s job harder, the system isn’t finished. I build for the people doing the work—not merely the people reviewing the reports. I am a Michigan Licensed Residential Builder [No: 241900092, expires: 05/31/2028]. My deepest hands-on implementation experience is with JobTread—my preferred platform for its flexibility, ease of configuration, and usability in both the office and the field. Buildertrend is next, followed by Contractor Foreman. I’ve also implemented Jobber and Housecall Pro, plus HubSpot, Copper CRM, Follow Up Boss, Method CRM, ServiceTitan, and others. I’ve used Procore, but for the small and midsize contractors I typically serve, its cost and complexity usually make it a poor fit. What do I recommend? The right system depends on the work—field service, sales follow-up, job costing, project delivery, or some combination. I use what fits instead of forcing another subscription. For ReadyNow Remodeling, I created mobile-friendly Buildertrend estimate and proposal templates so the owner could capture photos and measurements in the client’s home, rough out the estimate before reaching his truck, and often send the proposal before leaving the property. When pricing research was needed, he could hand the missing pieces to the team for rapid completion. The same estimate structure then supported job-cost and cost-to-complete reporting after the project began. During a roughly 33-month engagement with Homeowner Services of Michigan, annual revenue grew from about $300K to $3.5M while I helped digitize core project workflows in Buildertrend, strengthen lead follow-up and proposal systems, clarify team responsibilities, and expand staff and subcontractor capacity. My documented contribution was the workflow and management structure that supported clearer ownership, visibility, and coordination as the business grew. My approach: - Start with the operating problem, not the software package or AI tool - Design around the people doing the work - Stabilize the workflow before automating it - Keep consequential decisions with accountable humans - Use the company’s existing stack before recommending more software I do not sell generic AI transformation or another unused subscription. I build practical systems that owners, project managers, superintendents, and field crews can use under real project pressure. That is the purpose of better operations: a company that can grow without requiring the owner to carry every decision, every detail, and every follow-up personally. If your company bought the software but the owner’s still the operating system, send me the workflow that keeps breaking. I’ll tell you whether it fits a five-day workflow rescue—and what should be different when we’re finished.

I've been working in the construction industry for 17 years; initially as Subcontractor and then with a General Contractor where I filled several roles: Cost Engineer, Estimator, Business Analysist and now currently as a Senior Project Estimator. I'm extremely knowledgeable on all construction trades and have the tools necessary to develop budgets and bids. I would be happy to: Discuss various ways of improving, automating and ensuring that your bids are accurate, branded and re-usable. Complete take-off estimates of construction drawings to produce organized and accurate results.
