Storytelling has been a passion of mine since I was a child and I've spent the past six years turning that passion into a career. I graduated from Arcadia University in 2018 where I studied communications, creative writing, and cinema. I've participated in several workshops in and out of school to help sharpen my skills as a writer. As a ghostwriter, collaboration is important to me. I am always available to talk and discuss new ideas with clients. It is my job to take your ideas and turn them into fully fledged stories. I'm detail oriented, focused, and organized so you can trust that I am on top of all the projects I'm working on. As a developmental editor, my experience with narrative storytelling will help you refine your manuscripts. I will read your manuscript and leave comments in the document highlighting specific suggestions. You will also receive a detailed editorial report. When I'm not working on projects for clients, I'm working on my own romantic comedies that I'm hoping to publish within the next year!

Please read completely as many common questions are answered here. Born and raised in Ohio, I am a native English speaker and have a BA in English from Kent State University. For five years, I taught language, reading, and honors creative writing to junior and senior high students, writing my own drama and creative writing curriculum. Over the course of my career, I have released nearly a dozen YA novels, short story collections, a collection of plays, a cookbook, and a book on writing. I have worked as a freelance writer / ghostwriter in both non-fiction and fiction capacities, writing everything from captions and copy to short stories and novels in myriad genres. While my forte is fiction, I do accept non-fiction work. I've created characters and outlines, as well as writing from a provided outline, and can work with as much or as little as the client wishes. All work is 100% original, meaning that unless otherwise instructed by a client, I do not outsource work to other freelancers and I do not use generative AI programs. None of my writing, including any provided samples, were assisted or created by AI. Much of my work as a ghostwriter has made Amazon's top 100 ebook lists at least once, and I have had more than one make USA Weekend's Bestseller list. I have been freelancing since 2002 and have been writing full-time since December 2012. As I sign NDAs with all of my clients and while some do give permission for me to use parts of that work as writing samples, I cannot provide full chapters of any work I have done for clients. I can only provide chapters from my own work, which is all YA. I do not write samples over 500 words on request without payment. I require all communication to be through a messaging platform, which means no phone or Zoom interviews, though I am happy to set a time for an Upwork message chat interview. My current Upwork hourly rate is $40/hr and my current Upwork per word rate is $0.06/word. This is based on my experience and what my current clients are paying. Outlining, story development, and revision options vary for per word / fixed rate work and are not provided without additional compensation. I work on a first-come, first-serve basis, and that comes by contract, not discussion. I can advise what my schedule looks like at any given time, but until a contract is signed and a project accepted, that may change. I do not accept any work that promotes / portrays any of the following in a positive manner: homophobia, transphobia, misogyny, racism, hatred, or blasphemy of any religion.

I take pride in being a writer first and a businessman second. Quality writing sells better than any highly sophisticated strategem. With that in mind my goal is to become a world renowned writer; in regards to fiction writing and as a professional content writer as well. I have been working as a paid writer for fourteen years now, starting out as a part-time press release and article writer back in 2007. Since then I have been employed by SEO agencies and blogging networks. I have also worked as a film critic for local cinema clubs. Most recently I have gotten back to writing fiction, mostly concentrating on horror, science fiction, and fantasy. Putting all that together, I'd say I'm pretty competent when it comes to writing jobs. I've written screenplays for indie films, content for video games, SEO-related articles, blogs, press releases, and others. I've had my share of writing movie reviews, product reviews, and others. I've done novellas, short story collections, and book reviews. It's been a fun journey but I still feel like I've just begun.

I adhere to the Chicago Manual of Style while editing to maintain editing style and integrity throughout. - Proofreading: The main focus is catching any minor errors that might have slipped the cracks to make sure your work is publishing ready. - Beta Reading: The main focus is reviewing your book from a reader's perspective. I thoroughly go through your book and note strong areas as well as areas that may need strengthening. *Additional Services - Ghost Editor/Writer: The main focus is cleaning up what the author already has to help convey the message of the material in a clearer and more concise manner. *Plot Outlines: The main focus is taking the general idea behind the story, and creating a cohesive structure writers will be able to follow. Genres I Edit/Proofread - Action Adventure - Autobiographies - Business/Entrepreneurship - Children's Books - Coming of Age/Young Adult - Fantasy - Memoirs - Mystery - Personal Development/Self Help - Romance of various heat levels (clean or spicy), tropes (lovers to enemies, age gap, billionaire romance, etc.), and subgenres (sports romance, mafia romance, romantic mystery, etc.) - Thriller I value communication above all else, as I regularly check my messages at least twice a day. I value your time meaning if a deadline is agreed upon, I will work diligently to ensure all work is completed in a timely fashion. If you've managed to read through all that, I'd like to express my gratitude for doing so. Should you have any inquiries, please don't hesitate to reach out to me, and I will do my best to respond quickly. In the meantime, thanks once again!
