Choices made during the design and development phases will ultimately affect promotion and SEO, and a mistake made early on can be incredibly costly down the line. It's all too common to have a designer build you a website that looks good, but is slow, bloated, and buggy. Designers are great at making sites look good, but they're not always the best at translating their designs into code. So then you need a web developer go back through the site, fix the code, and speed everything up. Ouch, you didn't expect that extra cost, but at least the work is done and the site is ready to go, right? Wrong. Your site has been live for six months and the phone hasn't rung once.
