In January 2020, Favour Akuewulu, the lead consultant at THE BUSINESS PLAN GIRLS CONSULTING FIRM , resigned from actively retailing for other businesses to set up her own welding materials business in Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria, having worked as an employed sales manager for close to 10 years and is confident that she has all it takes to build and run a successful small business. In the same year, around April, she received cash support of #1'000'000 ( one million naira only ) from an uncle, to make monthly returns of #83'000 (eighty-three thousand naira only) for 12 months. She started her business, which was already registered with CAC, and needless to say, she failed woefully. All her plans, sales strategies, financial projections, and every other important detail of the business were written nowhere else but her head. Though she succeeded in repaying the soft loan, she had nothing to show for, in the business. She later started another line of business ( headwear designing).
