I’ve spent the last five years building and running my own two e-commerce brands — not managing someone else’s ad account, but making every decision myself: product, pricing, positioning, sourcing, fulfilment and marketing. Malin & Mizen — a map wall art brand (golf maps, surf maps etc.) I founded and grew to 32,000+ customers with localised fulfilment across the US, UK, EU and Australia. The remaining workload of managing e-commerce brands can become quite monotonous over time - taxes, accounting, profit analysis, managing freelancers, dealing with endless problems etc. Working with other brands is a nice 'change of scenery' from this. 3. Growing E-Commerce brands are inherently cash-hungry. So external free cash flow is always nice on the personal side .
