I check for all of these before your file ever reaches KDP. On the cover: A cover has to work at four different sizes. The full print size, the online store thumbnail, a mobile screen, and the spine. I design with genre conventions and thumbnail readability in mind from the first draft, not as an afterthought once the full-size version looks nice. For print, I build it to your exact trim size and page count so the spine width and bleed are correct the first time, no back-and-forth after KDP calculates your spine measurement. On copyright: if your interior or cover uses stock elements, fonts, or Canva assets, not everything in those libraries is licensed for commercial book publishing, KDP can and does ask for proof of rights. I only use original or properly licensed elements, so you're not exposed there.
