I worked for 9 years at Maugan srl - Il Bussetto, a company specializing in small leather goods in Milan, Italy. Good translation is more of an art than a science, therefore businesses and other clients who need their technical documents, academic dissertations and literary texts translated properly into a foreign language should hire someone with a solid grasp of both languages, as well as experience with the field's specific technical jargon. I have over fifteen years of experience working both as a freelance and contracted translator in Brazil, and over the years I have translated numerous different kinds of texts. My areas of expertise include technical documents, from metallurgy to laboratorial procedures, legal, financial and oil and gas. I have translated medical documents, academic transcripts and dissertations, among others. I have translated numerous ISO 14000 series documents from English to Brazilian Portuguese, working as a freelance translator for the ABNT (Associação Brasileira de Normas Técnicas), as well as laboratory procedures for the IBP (Instituto Brasileiro do Petróleo), a testament to my solid technical translation skills. I also have some experience in translating books, including purely literary science fiction and also more technical books on climate change. For example, I most recently translated "2052 - A Global Forecast for the Next Forty Years" for the eminent Norwegian climate change scientist Jorgen Randers, a member of the Club of Rome, from English to Brazilian Portuguese. In Brazil, the book was published by Editora CESGRANRIO in 2014. I am currently employed by a Brazilian translation company, but I work from home and would be able to handle moderate amounts of work per week, up to a limit of 20 hours. My prices are negotiable depending on the difficulty, size and deadline for the material to be translated. I currently use Memo Q translation software.
