In the role of content creator and strategist, I've completed numerous assignments to the clear satisfaction of a good many clients in the UK, the US, Mainland Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
Projects have included brand storytelling, narrative design, the creation of content pillars, white papers, in-depth reports, research articles, case studies, business plans, proposals, blogposts, and slide decks; also product descriptions, press releases, mission statements, taglines, slogans, video scripts, and newsletters.
While providing first class content, and/or strategic guidance, I've worked with a large array of companies from multiple sectors. These have included fintech, crypto, travel, legal, luxury retail, real estate. FMCG, pharma, gaming, AI, civil engineering, and consumer electronics.
Highly skilled in the art of narrative, I have been represented by two of the UK’s leading literary agencies, short-listed for three national writing awards, and was also the recipient of a Kindle Scout Award for a novel published on Amazon under a pen name. Added to this, I've provided developmental editing services for a wide range of authors and projects, as well as ghostwriting a number of fiction and non-fiction titles. Furthermore, while working via Upwork, I've been awarded “Top Rated” status in recognition of the high standards I've kept to and my clients' overall levels of satisfaction.
These same strengths as a writer and editor are also much in evidence when I'm employing them in the service of companies and organisations. Whether that means crafting a comprehensive brand story that will add lasting value to an enterprise - and help distinguish it from competitors - or else finding those words and concepts that best encapsulate a particular product or service.
Whatever the story, message, or sales proposition, I'm confident of adding real value to the task at hand; and while I pride myself on being highly creative, I also ensure that this creativity chimes with commercial realities and the specific requirements of each brief.
These writing skills are further augmented by a wealth of real-world experience, which includes stints as Head of Communications for an Ethiopian NGO - during which time I delivered a presentation at the Africa UN - and as a Lecturer in Poetry at a leading Chinese University. Having lived and worked in several countries, I have developed an appreciable sense of cultural nuances (and sensitivities) which also stands me in good stead.
At present, I have a particular interest in working with web3 projects (NFT and otherwise), synthetic media, and generative AI, exploring the myriad possibilities of these new technologies from a narrative viewpoint while establishing best practices in terms of story, ideation, and semantic structuring.
