What I Do: Product Design & Prototyping – CAD design, rapid prototyping, and DFM. Tooling & Mold Design – Plastic injection molds, compression molds, die casting, jigs, and fixtures. CNC Programming & Machining Support – 3-axis/ programming, setup optimization, and part accuracy. Manufacturing Consulting – Material selection, cost reduction strategies, and supplier sourcing. NOTE: I have (50) 5 star reviews, and (1) 1 star review, the 1 star review was from a client that had no understanding of what they were doing and ignored every attempt to work with them. Customer satisfaction is very important to me. Unfortunately when a client repeatedly ignores your requests to work together as a team and fails to understand the work involved, there is nothing I can do about that.

I bring 25 years of experience designing a wide range of consumer hard goods. I am highly proficient across the entire product development lifecycle, including design for manufacturing, and can support projects at any stage—from concept through production. While I specialize in outdoor products, I also have extensive experience designing for a broad range of industries. I am equally comfortable contributing to a full project or providing targeted support for specific phases as needed. I possess strong, efficient 3D modeling capabilities and am regarded by my peers as an expert in advanced surface modeling using SolidWorks. I also use KeyShot Studio to produce high-quality, photorealistic renderings that support design reviews and enhance marketing efforts. My manufacturing expertise includes designing for injection molding, die casting, investment casting, formed sheet metal, and CNC-machined components.

I am a Product / UX Designer who excels in empathizing not only with target users, but also developers working behind the scenes. I worked for Liberty Mutual as a Software developer for 1.5 years and most recently as a Product Designer for 4 years where I focused on improving the user experience in the software that our development teams built. My work varied in this space and included, high/low fidelity prototype design in Figma, user interviewing, user journey mapping, persona generation as well as various other facets of product design. Transitioning from a software development position at Liberty to a product design role helped me work more efficiently with the developers that I interacted with on a daily basis as well as better understand the process behind the products that our teams built. I graduated from the of the University of Wisconsin Madison in December of 2019 with a BS degree in Art and a secondary major in Computer Science. In my studies, I gained classroom experience with software technologies such as Java, C, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Python, Git, Node.js, Angular and design technologies that include Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Premiere, as well as 3D modeling/animation software including Maya and Rhino.
