The business works completely remotely, with colleagues in 20 countries. Due to the departure of their People Operations Manager, I became the sole Talent Acquisition Manager in late 2021. With plans for rapid growth in both Tech and Marketing teams, and few processes in place (there was an ATS, Freshteam) I had to quickly introduce myself as the new point of contact for recruitment to narrow down the immediate hiring priorities. After identifying the most pressing need was in the Tech teams, I worked with 4 different hiring managers of differing experience, ranging from no previous recruitment involvement to ex-Google with a plan. Once job descriptions, interview processes (including case studies and panel members) were agreed, I managed the advertising and screening process, delivering shortlists with recommendations for interviews. I arranged interviews with team members in multiple time zones and then managed the process to offer negotiation. In a short space of time, we successfully hired an addition for every tech team (Frontend, Backend, Android, iOS, UX/UI and ML/AI) In 2022, the challenge switched to building out the marketing team. Working with the VP of Marketing, we agreed to start with Heads of Departments (Product Marketing, Sales & Marketing Ops, PR & Comms and Acquisition Marketing) Using my demonstrated process with the Tech recruitment, all 4 positions were filled by the end of Q2. Next, I worked with the new Heads of each department to bring in a range of marketing professionals, including Content Marketers, Mixed Media Creators and Paid Search consultants.
