I am experienced in applying leadership theory and skills to facilitate stakeholder collaboration toward aligning and achieving organizational operational, tactical, and strategic goals. I rely on my understanding of business competencies, my experience serving in the Army, and the lessons learned from over two decades as an educator to make sound organizational decisions that benefit key stakeholders. I can effectively use both quantitative and qualitative data in the context of an organizational gap analysis to facilitate positive organizational change. I am skilled in both applied and action research. I have supported dozens of individuals and companies with curriculum design, instructional lessons, and designing eLearning experiences for students and employees. I am trained in specific curriculum models such as UDL, UbD, PBL, Taba, and Tyler. I am also trained in Kirkpatrick’s 4 Levels of Training Evaluation. Regarding instructional models, I am most familiar with ADDIE, SAM, and Gagne’s 9 Events of Instruction. I am familiar with a wide range of LMS. Supporting my training and experience with all the above is a deep understanding of various learning theories and how they can be adapted and implemented to support targeted learning outcomes. In addition to the work above, I enjoy ghostwriting blogs (SEO trained) and editing documents and manuals. For me, the intellectual exercise is gratifying. I pay attention to detail and always seek to understand the target audience and vision of those I collaborate with. I would be more than happy to share examples of past and recent work. I would love to help you make your vision a reality.Educational LeadershipCurriculum DevelopmentLeadership SkillsCurriculum DesignOrganizational BehaviorDistance EducationCurriculum MappingCoachingLeadership DevelopmentMilitary & DefenseBlogEducational TechnologyESL TeachingEducation PresentationMilitaryEducationScriptArticle - $75 hourly

My experiences in education have been wide and diverse during my tenure as an educator; allowing me to garner a breadth of experience from involvement with many multi-cultural and socio-economic groups. Throughout my service in education, I have sought opportunities to advance the academic success and socio-emotional health of every student. It has been my good fortune to successfully work with students to help them meet their personal and academic goals, develop partnerships and positive relationships with our parents/guardians and communities, build leadership capacity in both credentialed and certificated staff, innovate programs that are aligned with our School Plan for Student Advancement (SPSA), teach and work with new teachers as an adjunct professor in the School of Education, welcome new teachers into the teaching profession as a California Teaching Assessment Performance (CalTPA I/II) assessor, and edify new teachers in utilizing effective strategies, building meaningful relationships, and using data to drive instruction in order to develop lessons with equity and appropriate levels of rigor and relevance. Additionally, I am currently working on new curriculum, through my work with Code.org, to develop lesson plans which feature Artificial Intelligence for grades 6-12 in English and History. My experiences have included site administration, service at the district office level, classroom teaching at the middle school level, teaching at the university level, as well as, being a CalTPA I/II reader. As a site administrator, I was able to advance student achievement through original, professional development focused on data analysis and how this information guides curriculum and differentiated practices. By writing successful grants, I was able to innovate mentorship programs in partnership with teachers, increase learning opportunities through the development of new Career Technical Education courses and increase AP level course offerings, and implement site research studies to better support student needs. Additionally, at the district level, I was the first Program Specialist of After-School programs. In this position, I successfully wrote a grant that awarded the ABC Unified School district 1.5 million dollars; this afforded me the opportunity to develop and oversee after-school intervention programs at 11 school sites. Moreover, during my service as the Program Specialist of Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) I was able to successfully submit the GATE Plan to the State of California that provided funding for the district, certify teachers at the elementary level to be GATE teachers, and developed the first GATE parent/community presentations throughout the district in order to support understanding of the GATE processes, how students qualify for GATE, and the GATE services available for students who were identified as Gifted and Talented in marginalized communities. Furthermore, as a middle and high school English teacher I served as a department chairperson and implemented personalized learning strategies to engage students in equitable, meaningful, and relevant learning. It has also been rewarding to work with potential teachers as an adjunct professor in the School of Education at the university level, as well as, a CalTPA I/II assessor. To support the work of our new teachers as they learn to be equitable, educational leaders continues to be awe inspiring. Additionally, to be given the opportunity to be an assessor of new teachers’ CalTPA submissions, as their final assessment before they become teachers, continues to fuel my positivity about the future of our students’ educational journeys. The academic and personal needs of each student, as well as, cultivating positive relationships to ensure student success have been my main areas of focus throughout my career in education. I will bring my communication and facilitation skills, organizational abilities, and my strength for developing effective and meaningful processes and student-focused curriculum to effectively meet your company's needs.Educational LeadershipHigher EducationEducational TechnologyEducational SoftwareEducation, Certifications, & AwardsEducation PresentationEducation FrameworkEducationWorkplace Safety & HealthBudget ManagementProgram CurriculumPublic AdministrationArtificial IntelligenceEditing & ProofreadingEnglish - $75 hourly
