Everything started off great, and I genuinely thought Taofeek was going to become a long-term partner for our team.
Unfortunately, that changed very quickly.
This was a two-part project. The first part involved organizing our existing SOPs and building the initial structure. The second—and by far the larger and more important part—involved actually building the system: implementing the workflows in GHL, creating the automations, and building the AI agents in Make.com that would power the tool.
We had barely gotten into the actual build when I received a notification that **50% of the milestone had been completed.**
I was shocked.
When I asked about several of the components that were missing, I was told they weren't included in the scope of work. The problem is, they were explicitly included in the directions provided before the project began.
To be fair, Taofeek did complete a few things. He reorganized our Notion workspace, created a useful VA intake card/checklist, and made some organizational improvements.
Those are things we needed.
But they were nowhere close to representing 50% of the project.
The actual product build had not even started.
He had not built the GHL automations.
He had not built the AI agents in Make.com.
He had not built the tool itself.
He had not completed the SOPs we asked him to build out.
In fact, when I asked what had been completed, the response essentially consisted of describing the Notion organization in multiple different ways. Organizing the workspace doesn't suddenly become 10 separate deliverables because it's explained 10 different ways.
I'm sure Taofeek knows what he's doing technically. That's not really the issue.
**The issue is claiming that half of a project is complete when the primary build—the part that represented more than half of the actual work—hadn't even been started.**
That was a major red flag for us.
At that point, we decided to stop the project.
The frustrating part is that we're now out half of our project budget and left with some organized files and an intake checklist—but without the actual product we hired him to build.
If you're considering working with Taofeek, I would strongly recommend making sure every milestone is tied to **specific, verifiable deliverables** and not simply a percentage of the project.
For us, the problem wasn't that everything wasn't finished.

That destroyed our trust, and once trust is gone in a project like this, there's really no partnership left to build.
