I have expertise in academic writing, general writing, as well as journalistic writing. My Ph.D. is in journalism from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Rey has a Ph.D. in Journalism from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale (Dissertation Research Award) and a Master of Science in Radio-TV at Arkansas State University. He was the recipient of a Fulbright scholarship and various fellowship awards with the American Press Institute, American Society of Newspaper Editors, Institute for Journalism Excellence, Emmy Awards Organization (Academy of Television Arts and Sciences) and the International Radio-TV Society (IRTS).
Rey has a passion for innovation and entrepreneurship, digital media communication and online education, data science and machine learning. He is an award-winning university professor.
Rey's areas of expertise include, but are not limited to, the following: innovation and startup entrepreneurship, social media communication, academic research and writing, journalistic writing, media production, data journalism, data visualization, data processing and analysis, and online learning.
Rey recently completed a Data Foundations and Data Analyst nanodegrees through Udacity where he mastered the use of data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, Python programming language and Tableau for data visualization.
Rey served as an MIT visiting fellow in the spring/summer 2018.
