in statistical analysis with Amtrak's Maintenance Division at our
shops in LIC, NY. My responsibilities are to gather together data
from disparate sources and preform at times significant cleaning
before using the data in our reporting. Afterwards, the next task is
to interpret and summarize the findings for our senior management
staff in the form of daily reports and presentations. My experience
in this field has given me a strong attention to detail, along with
a passion to be able to meld Big Data with a strong contextual
understanding of the intricacies of our operation. I have served
across several different facets of our organization including customer
service, cleaning, clerical and station services. During my time in
Customer Service, I worked at our call center in Philadelphia taking
inbound calls. As the front line in forming a consumer impression of
our company, I relished being in a position to instinctively understand
the needs of the traveling public and help to establish a narrative of
what train travel can offer. Since train travel is occupies such a small
share of the travel market within the United States, we as call center
representatives are often in the position of having to build a portrait
for the customer of the overall experience of using our service rather
than the customer having a more intrinsic understanding such as
with air or car travel. This experience has cultivated a skill set of
being able to sell products, experiences and brands that are still
finding their voice as well as delivering exceptional customer service.
