Virtual Assistant – Operations & Administrative Support (Part-Time)
Usama attended Zoom training on the first day and stated that he did not have access to a camera. However, most phones and PCs are equipped with cameras, and this was later confirmed when he joined the following day using his PC camera and the next day using his phone camera. This made his initial statement appear inaccurate.
On the second day, he indicated that he had completed an assigned task involving enrolling users into Thinkific and updating the tracking spreadsheet. We were not notified that the task was completed, and when asked, he confirmed it was done. Upon review, the spreadsheet had not been updated, and the task was not fully completed as stated.
On the third day, he requested at the last minute to push the start time back by an hour due to Ramadan, citing low energy. However, he joined the call from his phone while driving. This raised concerns regarding professionalism, preparedness, and overall commitment to the role.
Additionally, he requested that we update our 3-star review to a 5-star review and stated that he would provide us with a 5-star review in return. We advised that we are not concerned with receiving a 5-star review, as we believe we have acted professionally and in good faith throughout this process. Our review reflects our honest experience and is not influenced by reciprocal expectations.
Following our decision not to alter the review to 5 stars, he submitted a 1-star review of us. Given the context and timing, this appeared retaliatory rather than a reflection of our conduct throughout the engagement.
