For 5 years, I ran my own independent business manufacturing and selling cleaning products—hand soap, dish soap, and degreasers—visiting my clients directly to learn about their experience with each product. If a soap dried out their hands, I knew it was too concentrated and reformulated it. If a degreaser didn't perform well, I understood it lacked strength. I never settled for a simple "it didn't work"—I found out the exact reason why and fixed it until the customer was completely satisfied.
