Project details

Construction bookkeeping is not generic bookkeeping. Contractors deal with job costs, draws, subs, materials, receipts, PM software, customer deposits, progress billing, classes/locations, and reports that need to actually match the way work happens in the field.

This monthly service is built specifically for contractors and trades using QuickBooks Online.

Basic is for clean, QBO-only monthly categorization and reconciliations. Standard adds light job costing and PM software support when job information is available. Advanced is for contractors who need deeper back-office support, including construction bookkeeping, job costing, QBO classes/locations/tags, reporting support, and coordination between QBO and approved project management software.

This is not a one-size-fits-all bookkeeping offer. It is structured monthly support with clear scope, predictable pricing, and defined boundaries.

Best fit: general contractors, remodelers, builders, specialty trades, and construction businesses that want cleaner books, stronger job tracking, and a more organized back office.

Hi, I’m Lauren.

I have over 20 years of bookkeeping experience, with a strong focus on construction and trades. I’m a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor and an Intuit Certified Bookkeeper, and I’ve spent years helping contractors get their books caught up, cleaned up, and maintained in a way that actually supports how they work.

A lot of the businesses I take on don’t realize what’s missing until we start looking closer. Accounts haven’t been reconciled regularly, invoices get buried in email, subcontractor paperwork isn’t tracked, and payroll and payroll tax requirements aren’t being handled consistently. I’ve rebuilt entire years of records so clients could file correctly and move forward without ongoing stress.

My role is to put simple, repeatable processes around the financial side of the business so things don’t fall through the cracks again. That includes keeping books accurate and up to date, assigning costs to the correct jobs, organizing documents, and making sure payroll and tax obligations are handled properly and on time.

I also work across the software tools contractors commonly use and help make sure they’re set up in a way that actually works together:

QuickBooks Online for core accounting and reporting

Buildertrend, Contractor Foreman, Structur, Jobber and similar platforms for job and project tracking

Payroll systems such as Gusto and ADP

Spreadsheets for job costing, tracking, and custom workflows when software alone isn’t enough

When the foundation is set up correctly, you get clear financial statements you can use — for loans, equipment purchases, planning future projects, and understanding how your business is actually performing. Job costs make sense, overhead is visible, and past projects can be used to estimate future work more accurately.

Part of what I do is also education. Not in a technical or overwhelming way, but in helping you understand what should be happening behind the scenes, so you know what to expect, even if you’re not the one doing the work.

If your books are behind, disorganized, or causing ongoing stress, I can help get things back under control and keep them that way.

I look forward to connecting and supporting your business needs!
