Project details

At 2am your options are voicemail, or an answering service reading a script who takes a name and a number and wakes your tech for something that could have waited until Tuesday.

I spent seventeen years in the trades and ran a service company. I have been the guy getting called at 2am, and the guy deciding whether to send someone.

I am not going to tell you I am a master plumber. What I can do is tell a real emergency from a morning appointment, ask the questions that actually matter, and get your on-call tech what he needs before he rolls. No water shutoff, no heat with an infant in the house, sparking panel: those go to you now. Slow drain, thermostat blinking, noise in the ducts: booked for the morning with the customer calmed down.

What you get, 12am to 8am Eastern, Monday through Friday:

Every call answered by a person, in unaccented American English.
Urgency triaged against rules we agree on up front.
Jobs booked straight into your system.
On-call escalated only when it is genuinely warranted.
A log every morning of what came in and what I did.

Start with a trial week and see how many truck rolls you did not have to make.

About Nicholas

Nicholas V.Status: Offline
Field Service Operations - CRM, Scheduling & Invoicing Systems
Lutz, United States - 4:54 pm local time
Most people use spreadsheets to make lists. I use them to run businesses.

I spent 20 years running my own. A music venue for eleven of them, an appliance repair company, a restaurant consulting practice. In every one I was the guy who built the systems that kept the place from falling apart. Scheduling, dispatch, invoicing, inventory, payroll, commissions. If it involved data, it came through me.

Then I built the software. ApplianceOps is a field service platform that repair shops run their whole day on: jobs, dispatch, estimates, invoices, Stripe and PayPal payments, technician payroll and commissions, SMS and calling. React and TypeScript on the front, Postgres behind it, offline first so techs keep working in dead zones and sync when signal comes back. I designed it, shipped it solo using AI tooling, and I run it in production. Real shops. Real money moving through it.

Seventeen of those years I was also turning wrenches. Still am.

So here is what you get. Not a developer who read about your industry. Someone who has done the job, run the company, and built the tool. If you run a home service business (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance, cleaning, pest control) I already know why your scheduling is a mess and what your invoicing is quietly costing you.

What I do:
- Field service operations: scheduling, dispatch, job flow, estimates, invoicing
- CRM setup, cleanup, and migration
- Google Sheets and Apps Script business systems: reporting, automation, integrations
- Payments, payroll, and commission structures
- SOPs and documentation

Around 20 hours a week. Timezone is not an issue, I work odd hours anyway.

Steps for completing your project

After purchasing the project, send requirements so Nicholas can start the project.

Delivery time starts when Nicholas receives requirements from you.

Nicholas works on your project following the steps below.

Revisions may occur after the delivery date.

We set the triage rules

Before night one we agree what wakes your tech and what waits. Your call, written down, so I am never guessing at 3am and you are never surprised at 7am.

I cover the nights

12am to 8am Eastern, five nights. Calls answered live, triaged, booked or escalated per the rules. Nothing goes to voicemail.

Review the work, release payment, and leave feedback to Nicholas.
