Virtual Assistant for Customer Support
I hired this freelancer for a two-week period in mid-to-late May for basic administrative tasks: researching a venue, and writing a few invoices and emails. The scope was minimal and clearly defined from the start.
She presented herself as highly experienced in process automation and administrative efficiency which made it all the more surprising when the Upwork time tracker revealed how long she was spending on the most basic tasks, such as drafting simple invoices. The tracked time simply did not reflect the level of proficiency she had claimed.
Despite the very limited output delivered, the total cost came to $408 ,entirely disproportionate to what was actually accomplished. When I raised my concerns and attempted to have a constructive conversation about the billing, she was unwilling to acknowledge the discrepancy or take any responsibility for it.
I value transparency and honest communication in a working relationship, especially when something goes wrong. Unfortunately, that was not the experience here. We ended the contract as a result.
I would not recommend this freelancer to others looking for reliable, efficient, and cost-effective administrative support.
