I had engaged Glenn Mercene for a project that, according to our agreement, was expected to be completed within five days. Unfortunately, the project extended for a whopping seven months, leading to significant delays and challenges. Here's a detailed account of our collaboration:
1. Communication Concerns: One major issue with Glenn was the manner of his communication. There were instances where the responses seemed automated or generated by AI, removing the expected human touch from our interactions. Glenn neither provided a clear deadline for the project's completion nor addressed our requests for a refund.
2. Dependence on AI: It became apparent that Glenn was leveraging AI for some communications. While AI can be an asset in certain scenarios, it is critical to maintain genuine human interaction, especially when dealing with issues that require empathy and understanding.
3. Work Quality: Despite Glenn's claims of exceeding the project's initial scope, the final product did not meet our standards. Persistent issues with the website's appearance and functionality persisted despite our consistent feedback.
4. Professional Ethics: Glenn's premature withdrawal of payment from the escrow account without our consent or project completion was a blatant breach of our agreement, severely straining our professional relationship.
