My background is a bit different from most: I hold a degree in Mathematics and recently completed a Data Quality Specialization from the University of Michigan. That shapes how I think about every file I touch. Not just "did I enter the data" but "is this data correct, complete, and actually usable."
Here's what I handle regularly:
• Data entry and processing: invoices, bank statements, legal filings, product catalogs, historical directories, scanned forms. Volumes from 100 rows to 500,000+, in Excel, Google Sheets, or wherever your data needs to live.
• Web scraping and data scraping: public websites, membership directories, government portals, e-commerce platforms. I use Python, Octoparse, and WebScraper to pull structured data into whatever format you need.
• PDF to Excel and PDF conversion: text PDFs, image PDFs, password-protected files, low-quality scans, old documents with messy formatting. OCR plus manual review, so the output is actually clean.
• Data cleaning and deduplication: wrong columns, inconsistent naming, duplicate records, garbled imports. Fixed with Excel formulas, Power Query, or careful manual correction depending on what the file needs.
