Product 1 Project - Wix Web Application
This feedback is detailed but not exhaustive. It is based solely on my personal experience of hiring Oleg as web developer, and it may not necessarily reflect the experience others clients may have had.
- Demonstrated a preference for communication via long email chains rather than addressing queries directly using more appropriate means of tracking progress of milestones and feedback/fix requests.
- Completed only select components of the requested work, deviating from the full scope.
- Displayed inadequate communication skills and struggled with tracking deliverables.
- Engaged in lengthy email discussions that didn't contribute to productivity.
- Presented subpar design concepts, reluctant to provide creative solutions about the design or functionality or suggest diverse draft options for client selection.
- Rejected basic change requests (e.g., font, color, style) and simple feature additions, unless an extra fee was paid.
- Declined incorporating a basic subscription plan option without an additional fee.
- Marked work as "complete" despite unresolved sections, malfunctioning elements, and design inconsistencies.
- Presented poor design ideas and unwillingness to develop different draft design options for the client to choose from.
- Demonstrated an unclear understanding of project in hand.
- Failed to thoroughly understand and address client inquiries.
- After multiple email exchanges and unaddressed fix requests, the project reached a point where cancellation was being considered. Only upon expressing this intention did the work suddenly see some progress.
- Despite affirming end-to-end testing and complete scope validation, overlooked the absence of essential functionalities in accordance with original scope and expected standard of work:
o Inability to add products to basket.
o Missing cart buttons from multiple products.
o Ability for customers to access unpaid content.
o Disparity between backend and frontend prices.
o Non-functional print, social media sharing, and "save to favourites" features.
- Delivered one-time payment capability without safeguards against double charges in circumstances where a product and a bundle are added to cart. Failed to identify, acknowledge, and rectify this issue during development, apart from the end, where additional money was required to do the work, as it was considered “advanced marketing tool”.
- Constructed a product setup that inhibits site owner's management of member subscriptions and purchases.
- Addressed basic print functionality on product pages, but failed to address overlapping and unreadable text. Dismissed the readability issue as out of scope and rejected request to improve/fix.
