How they came to me: A fishing business, Roger's fishing Mate, reached out needing more than another generic weather website; their users needed forecasting specific enough to actually plan a fishing trip around.
The problem: Standard weather data isn't built for anglers. Conditions that matter for fishing; tide, marine temperature, pressure trends, live across, multiple separate data sources, not one clean API.
The process: I integrated multiple weather and marine data APIs, built logic to normalize and cross-reference the data, and designed a UI that translates raw numbers into a clear "should I go fishing today" answer for end users.
Challenges during the project: reconciling mismatched update frequencies/formats across data sources, handling API rate limits and downtime, forecast data time not accurate and consistent with actual weather platforms due to timezone differences
The solution: A custom application that pulls from multiple live data sources and delivers tailored, actionable fishing-condition insights instead of raw weather data. Javascript functions to ensure time conversion accuracy and consistency
Outcome & client feedback: A functioning app for end users with valuable insights like fishing condition that tell users exact time to go out fishing. Big thumbs 👍 up from the client with gratitude expressions that could not be put to words.
📌 Virtual Wardrobe Marketplace
How they came to me: Trudy reached out to me demanding to know the possibility of having a virtual wardrobe to keep history of her closet, something she has always wondered about, and possibility of monetizing it
The problem: Users needed one platform to digitally organize their wardrobe, buy and sell clothing, and manage subscriptions, three distinct product experiences (inventory management, marketplace, subscription billing) that usually live in separate apps.
The process: I built a scalable web and mobile platform with custom backend logic, integrated payments, and responsive interfaces designed to handle all three use cases without feeling like three bolted-together tools.
