I've worked as an English tutor for Korean students since 2023. I also have experience of teaching Korean as a volunteer ; kindergarten students in Laos and for the exchange students who came to study in our university from various countries. I myself was also a student when I took online zoom classes with native English speakers, which helped me come up with my own style of online classes and curriculums. Most recently, I spent a year in Australia working in different places to improve my English, interact with different nationalities, and put myself out in a multicultural environment.
Currently, I am working on my personal project - developing an application that lowers the language barriers and help enhance understandings of cultural contexts (cues). For example, I once had difficulties while communicating with different nationalities. I didn't know how to react since I wasn't aware of the social context or the common grounds shared within the same culture.
Besides, I am focusing on my future careers to be in HCI (Human-Computer Interaction). I’ve worked on various digital marketing projects where I contributed to social media content planning, graphic design (with Figma, Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator, Canva), and customer-centered storytelling. As part of my internship (as a Global Marketing Intern), I’ve handled real-time engagement on Instagram, collaborated on Amazon storefront visuals, and used both Korean and English in brand messaging. Before my marketing internship, I was in two different labs as a student researcher (internship) - EduTech and Human-Computer Interaction Lab (focusing in Digital Healthcare).
I’m confident with tools like Canva Pro, Google Spreadsheets and Docx, Notion, Slack, and etc. I always stay curious about what makes users actually engage with content or brands.
