Now as the most important things are noted, in a bit more more detail. I have not used Upwork before, so I needed a bit of handholding with this, which Vira kindly provided.
I was originally not sure of the budget other than some range. Timeline was not an issue other than due to nature of my current "job elsewhere" I was asynchronous so had to message here a bit more asynchronously than I would hope for. This was not a problem either, worked really well from my perspective.
The actual job was to do a rough first draft animation of a logo we have. The main target was the new Android splash screen AVD and secondary other platforms such as Windows. Vira noted quickly she does not do AVD, checked offline if the formats she works with can be transformed and got back to me. It appears not possible. But this was not really an issue. The issue was to get some kind of first draft animation going and if needed, find after this someone to transform the used formats to AVD. We got into the same page with quickly.
I provided ample background knowledge of how it came to be and for what it will be used. I did not want to contrain or push to any direction too much. I do not know how time it takes do animation related things. I do know that if I provide a lot of background material and start going back-and-forth I end up consuming everyone's time. So Vira came up with an idea quickly and it looks splendid for me for our purpose.
Eventually the contract concluded under budget and even faster than I thought off. During the proces we got some more ideas how to proceed later. This was indeed a rought first sketch to get an animation of the logo so we get wheels moving elsewhere. If we decide to enhance (we very well might), we most likely come back to Vira. We also have other needs if things go as planned and probably come back with those time.
So, all in all, a succesful project.
