Diagnosing AI Systems Before They Break

First in interfaces — as a UX architect identifying where designs would break under real human behaviour. The discipline was called heuristic evaluation. The process was structured observation, pattern recognition, and intervention before damage.
The same thinking now applies one layer deeper.
Modern AI systems — RAG pipelines, multi-agent architectures, LLM-powered workflows — fail in ways that look like output problems but are actually structural problems. Wrong retrieval. Silent intent misclassification. Stale knowledge presented with full confidence. Governance that exists on paper but not in the system.
These failures are invisible until they compound. By then trust is eroded, costs have scaled, and the fix requires architectural surgery instead of a prompt adjustment.
I conduct AI Cold Diagnostics — structured examinations of AI system architecture using observed behaviour, execution traces, and failure pattern analysis. The output is a prioritised findings report with specific, implementable recommendations ranked by risk reduction impact.
What I bring that most AI consultants don't — I've designed and developed a multi-agent system from the ground up, hitting every structural failure mode personally in the process. I don't diagnose from theory. I diagnose from pattern recognition built through real system failures.
