Project details

I'm a licensed architect and service designer, and I bring that combination to every UX project I take on. Most designers are trained to make things look good. I'm trained to figure out how systems work, where they break down, and what it takes to make them hold together for the people who actually use them.

My UX work is rooted in research first. I don't open Figma until I understand who the users are, what they're trying to do, and where the current experience is failing them. From there I move through information architecture, wireframes, and prototypes in a way that keeps the client in the loop at every step, not just at the end.

I've designed member portals, service ecosystems, and digital tools for nonprofits and community organizations. I also bring an architect's eye to layout, hierarchy, and space. If you're a mission-driven organization, a nonprofit, or a founder who wants design that actually serves your users, this is built for you.

About DaMario

Architect + UX/Service Designer | Civic, Cultural & Mission-Driven Pro

My name is DaMario. I'm an architect and designer based in Philadelphia, and I've spent the better part of a decade learning how to move between the technical and the human side of design without losing either one.

I hold a Master of Architecture from the University of Cincinnati and recently completed full architectural licensure. My day-to-day work at an architecture firm involves taking projects from early concept through construction documents, coordinating with structural and MEP engineers, and making sure what gets built actually reflects what was designed. I've worked on housing, civic buildings, healthcare facilities, and cultural institutions.

At the same time, I serve as Lead Product Designer for a youth culinary workforce nonprofit, where I've been designing their member portal and service ecosystem from the ground up. That work stretches across UX research, journey mapping, facilitation, and systems design. It's the kind of project where you have to understand both the people using the tool and the organization trying to sustain itself, and I genuinely love that complexity.

I grew up in a community that saw a lot of displacement and disinvestment. That shapes how I approach design. I'm drawn to projects where the work actually matters to someone, where getting it right has real stakes, not just aesthetic ones.

On Upwork I take on architectural renderings and visualizations and UX and service design work, especially for nonprofits and mission-driven organizations. I work in Revit, Rhino, Lumion, Grasshopper, Figma, and Photoshop depending on what the project calls for.

If you're looking for someone who can think across scales and who takes the work seriously, I'd love to hear about what you're building.

Steps for completing your project

After purchasing the project, send requirements so DaMario can start the project.

Delivery time starts when DaMario receives requirements from you.

DaMario works on your project following the steps below.

Revisions may occur after the delivery date.

Kickoff Meeting

We meet to align on goals, users, constraints, and what success looks like. You share any existing research, assets, or context. I ask a lot of questions.

Discovery and Definition

I review what you've shared, map the user journey, and identify where the gaps are. I'll present my findings before moving into design so we're building on the same foundation.

Review the work, release payment, and leave feedback to DaMario.
