Seven portraits retouching skin and changing background
Dear Upwork Support,
I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding a retoucher I hired through Upwork.
The quality of the retouching has been consistently poor and far below the professional standard I expected. More concerning is the freelancer's conduct after it became apparent that this project required careful, detailed work.
The freelancer recently claimed that he was unable to open my Fujifilm RAF files. However, this explanation is simply not consistent with the facts. He successfully opened and retouched my RAF files not only earlier in this project, but also in May, when I sent him the same file format and he completed work without any technical issues.
It appears that once he realized the amount of work required, he chose to provide an excuse rather than communicate honestly about his willingness or ability to complete the project. I find this behavior misleading and highly unprofessional.
In addition, the inconsistency in the quality of the work has led me to question whether the freelancer is personally completing the retouching or outsourcing it to others without my knowledge. I cannot confirm that this is happening, but the varying quality and the contradictory explanations have raised serious concerns.
As a client, I expect honesty, transparency, and professional communication. Instead, I have experienced poor-quality work, contradictory explanations, and conduct that has undermined my confidence in this freelancer.
I respectfully ask Upwork to review this matter and advise me on an appropriate resolution.
