I improve a specific user flow by starting with evidence, not assumptions. First, I map the existing flow step by step to understand where users hesitate, drop off, or behave unexpectedly. I then review quantitative data (funnels, drop-offs, event paths) and qualitative signals (user feedback, session recordings) to identify the main friction point that blocks progress.
Next, I clarify the user’s intent at that exact moment in the flow - what they want to achieve, what questions they have, and what might create doubt. Based on this, I simplify the flow to remove unnecessary steps, reduce cognitive load, and make the next action obvious. This often includes improving copy, visual hierarchy, and timing of key decisions (for example, when to introduce a paywall or request input).

𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝗺𝘆 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵:
A client came to me with a live app that didn't convert at all on the onboarding flow. I made user flow analysis, made research about user persona and its expectations from the app. Combined expectations, with existing flow and found the gaps.
After that I came up with 3 versions for A/B testing of onboarding flow with different paywall steps:
𝟭. in the beginning starting a free trial;
𝟮. subscription screen at the end of onboarding;
𝟯. a hard stop screen after onboarding and after users played with an app a little bit.
Also, I made a call with the client's dev to set up Mixpanel to track the right events and pull same amount of users on each test.
The result?
After testing it, our auditory started subscribing after testing the app, so the conversion rate grew 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟭% 𝘁𝗼 𝟰% 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵.
